Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a very important tool used for decision making in a

developmental projects as well as a systematic process to identify, acknowledge, predict and evaluate

the environmental effects of the proposed actions and projects. This process is applied prior to major
decisions and commitments being made in order to achieve sustainable development.

An EIA is a tool for decision-making that helps to ensure that the environmental implications of a project
or policy are considered before it is implemented. An EIA can also provide opportunities for public
participation, consultation, and disclosure of information. An EIA can cover a wide range of
environmental aspects, such as air quality, water resources, biodiversity, climate change, human health,
and social and economic impacts.
