1. General

1) Purpose : To prevent pulling or pushing loads from accelerating during movement.

2) Application : For load-holding parts (hydraulic lifting, pivoting and turning etc.)

3) Advantage

- It controls the oil flow automatically by spring tension and hydraulic pressure.

- It is specialized in the vibration.

4) SIV pressure setting

When you set the SIV pressure, you need the manual pump and pressure gage.
① The grub screw, serves for locking of ② and must be loosened prior to any pressure
adjustment.
② Perforated disc can be rotated with Allen Key A/F
= Pressure increase
= Pressure decrease
③ Retighten the grub screw ① after performed adjustment.

① Ambient : approx. -40℃ ~ +80℃

② Fluid : -25℃ ~ +80℃
- If the operating temperature is low(example below -40℃), check the fluid viscosity and
the temperature is 20K higher(compared to -40℃) at least.
- Biological degradable pressure fluid [HEPG(Polyalcylenglycol), HEES(synthetic ester)]
: The operating temperature is below +70℃

 Before the work(replace O-ring and cleaning)
1. Before the work, you have to fix the boom. Because if you remove the SIV, there will be
no hydraulic pressure in the cylinder. So the boom may retract while at work.

2. When you remove the bolt(A), you have to

release slow. Because there is very high
hydraulic pressure. So someone gets hurt.

A And you can miss that bolt.
3. When you screw bolt(C), please screw the
bolt C slowly, Connected portion of 1st cylinder
with SIV is possible to be broken, if you screw
the bolt C too tight.

 4. Replace the O-ring
Before working – FOR SAFE WORKING, ALL BOOMS HAVE TO BE FOLDED
① Before the working, you have to remove the hydraulic oil in
the SIV. Unscrew the bolt A (13mm spanner).
Warning : The oil pressure remains in the SIV.
C Unscrew slowly.
A ② After releasing the oil, remove the pipes around the SIV.
③ Change B(O-ring)
④ Assemble the SIV and connect the pipe.
Caution : When you screw bolt C, please screw the
bolt C slowly, Connected portion of 1st cylinder with
SIV is possible to be broken, if you screw the bolt C
B too tight.
⑤ After assembling, operate joystick 1st boom fold function
for charging hydraulic oil into SIV and check the boom
movement.

 5. Cleaning method for SIV
Before working – FOR SAFE WORKING, ALL BOOMS HAVE TO BE FOLDED

① Before the working, you have to remove the

hydraulic oil in the SIV. Unscrew the bolt A
A (13mm spanner).
Warning :
- The oil pressure remains in the SIV.
- Unscrew slowly.

① Before the work, check the bolt depth

for same pressure(Fig2).

① When you remove the case, Release the

bolt B. And then release the bolt C.

① Remove the case with

C spanner.

② Clean the whole parts.
(You may use the clean oil)
※ Caution : Parts are small.
So Be careful to lose parts.

① Assembly sequence is of
dismantlement in reverse sequence.
② Release “C”(for adjusting) to the
maximum(It has to be assembled).
③ Assemble the case with spanner.
Don’t forget to put the washer.
④ Fasten “C”(for adjusting) slowly.
The pressure is getting high.
⑤ Fasten “C”(for adjusting) until same
depth which is measured before
disassemble.
⑥ Fasten “B” (for fixing).

⑦ After assembling SIV, assemble the

pipes.
⑧ Before controlling the boom, please
fold all booms for supplying hydraulic
oil at SIV.

Load holding valve ① F : F line is flow line for hydraulic. The hydraulic moves

through this line to cylinder or tank.

② Z : Z line is to open the check valve. Z line is connected

with F line and oppose valve’s S line.

return the oil to tank.
