Decision-Making

The US fishing manufacturer is popular in the country because of several aspects,

especially its decision-making process, which is influenced by the company’s culture,

organizational structure, and strategic statements. The organization’s culture is mainly based on

innovation. The founders have invested in offering the employees incentives to fund their

innovative ideas. Additionally, the founders have created testing laboratories for new ideas

where customers utilize their products and offer their feedback. This idea by the founders has

been key in ensuring that employees consider all the clients’ specifications in addition to their

own. Considering all employees’ ideas improves the chances of the company offering the best

customer service, which will result in referrals and improved profitability (Orozco, 2017). The

availability of testing laboratories pulls more customers who would like to try out new designs of

fishing boats before making purchases. Besides, the invitation of investors from other industries,

such as information technology and gaming, is another company culture that is imperative in

diversifying the products that the company offers in the market (Bergek et al., 2021). This

culture will ensure that the company holds a larger share in the fishing boat industry.

Furthermore, the company has cultivated a culture of considering employees and founders as

equal partners. This stems down to the organizational culture, as it motivates the employees to

work hard to ensure that they acquire and maintain more customers to ensure increased

profitability.

The organizational structure is decentralized since the founders and the employees play

equal roles in decision-making. Founders and employees are considered equal partners;

employees can therefore influence decisions made by founders. Every decision has to be

assessed to ensure that it is beneficial to the organization’s future. This organizational structure
3

gives employees a sense of belonging and encourages them to work hard to ensure that the

company profits. This structure ensures that a loss for the company does not only affect the

founders but also the employees. Thus, the employees have an obligation to offer their best

services to ensure the growth of the company, which will in turn increase their individual

salaries.

The strategic statements of the organization are the key influencers in the decision

making process. For instance, the organization is mainly driven by innovation, hence their

decision-making process. The company’s mission is to offer innovative client-driven design and

growth in the industry. The company’s mission therefore ensures that the decisions made by the

founders and employees focus on innovation and take into consideration the customer’s

specifications. Their decisions also focus on enhancing innovation in the industry (Orozco,

2017). Their mission encourages them to make decisions that will ensure innovation in the

industry and their growth in the industry. Similarly, their vision encourages the founders and

employees to make decisions that will enable them to maintain availability of resources for

continuity of the company and the industry for longer periods. Their ethical statement

complements their vision and encourages the company to make decisions that will ensure

environmental conservation while maintaining the available resources for the industry’s long-

term survival .

The Company’s Culture and the Market Entry Strategy

The company maintains an innovative culture which is essential in entering the Indian

market. The founders have incorporated innovators from the gaming and IT industries to help

improve their designs. The most popular innovation is a non-mechanized origami-inspired

foldable boat which will be acceptable by the Indian government since it will have little negative
4

impact on the environment (Bergek et al., 2021). The company plans to establish a fishing boat

manufacturing facility in India. The company will then use plastics in India to design non-

mechanized boats with the help of ideas from Indian fishers (Orozco, 2017). The company also

plans on hiring Indians to work in the facility.

The Organizational Structure

The company’s organizational structure is an advantage to the company. The founders

and employees are considered equal partners, and hence all take part in decision-making. This

structure offers employees a sense of belonging that will be essential in improving their

productivity. Additionally, the decisions made by the company will improve in quality since the

scrutiny of their decisions will be intense (Orozco, 2017). The employees will also be motivated

to please their customers by offering the best customer service to influence profitability and

customer maintenance.

Characteristics of the Emerging Market

First, fishing is an important economic activity in India. The coastal regions of the

country practice aquaculture and fishing. Additionally, India is associated with a substantial

amount of plastic waste which can be recycled by the organization to make the foldable non-

mechanized origami boats. Additionally, India’s business climate is open to new partnerships,

therefore the company can easily acquire business partners once they enter the industry (Bergek

et al., 2021). The country’s importation laws and regulations allow the importation of plastic

foldable boats which are effective for young and old Indian fishers. Furthermore, Indians will

provide labor in the facility that will be built.

A product design change will include the utilization of plastic waste in India to develop

non-mechanized origami boats that will suit the needs of fishers in India. The company will
5

therefore have to develop a boat manufacturing facility near the Indian Coast that will liaise with

the National Fisheries Development Board to enhance natural fishing.

Stages of the Design Thinking Process

First, the company has to analyze the fishing and aquaculture industries in India and then

analyze the requirements of NFDB. The company will then look for suitable businesses to

partner with in the development of non-mechanized boats. In accordance with the NFDB

regulations, the company will then collect all plastics for recycling and embark on developing

foldable origami boats with the help of Indian fishers who will give specifications which will be

adhered to by the organization during the manufacturing process.

The company culture is based on innovation, which is essential in the development of

non-mechanized origami boats to suit the needs of fishers in India. Also, the company has a

culture of partnering with innovators from other companies in India to help them navigate the

Indian market (Bergek et al., 2021). The company utilizes emerging market ethics to ensure that

their decisions are sustainable for the environment and the customers. The company will ensure

that they recycle the plastics in India to make non-mechanized boats suitable for every customer

(Anand et al., 2019). The organization will further follow the emerging legal system by ensuring

that they liaise with the NFDB to enhance the natural fishing in India through the manufacture of

non-mechanized origami boats that are functional in still waters.

The Company's Ethical Statement and Market Entry Strategy

The company’s ethical statement mandates the founders and employees to make

decisions that are environmental friendly and sustainable for the clients. In their entry into the

Indian market, they are obligated to follow NFDB regulations of manufacturing fishing boats

that improve natural fishing in India (Anand et al., 2019). Natural fishing is enhanced through
6

the recycling of plastic waste to establish non-mechanized foldable origami boats which suit the

fishers needs regardless of the age. Additionally, most fishers will be involved in the

manufacturing process of these foldable boats.
