Dear Colleagues,
The Ministry of Education and Youth uses this medium to advise its stakeholders that
the National Water Commission (NWC) and MIYA Water Jamaica, a prominent global
utility company, will be launching a Water Conservation Video Challenge under the
theme "Be the Change you want to see in the World," in schools across Jamaica. This
groundbreaking initiative aims to foster a heightened awareness of water conservation
among the youth while nurturing their creativity and engagement with this vital
subject.
This should showcase practical water conservation techniques applicable to their daily
lives, while harnessing the popularity of the TikTok platform to engage the younger
generation, effectively amplifying the reach and impact of this campaign. The
challenge forms part of the organization’s Public Education Programme, which has so
far engaged hundreds of students in the Portmore community.
Guidelines:
• The challenge will remain open until October 31, 2023, and students are required
to submit their videos in MP4 format via email to miyajamaica@miya-water.com.
• All submissions must include the student's name, age, school, and grade,
accompanied by parental or teacher endorsement.
• By submitting their videos, participants grant NWC and MIYA permission to utilize
the content for promotional purposes.
