1. Objective
This test method covers the determination of the Chloride
using the automatic titrator.

2. Analyzed Material
This test is performed on the raw material and the intermediate products of
the cement industry.

3. Apparatus
3.1 Sensitive Balance
3.2 Glassware (beakers).
3.3 Automatic titrator.

4. Reagent
a. Silver Nitrate solution (0.02N): Dissolve 3.398gm
in distilled water then complete it to 1000ml by
distilled water. Standardize it using 0.02 N NaCl
with the mixed indicator.

5. Safety

PPE'S must be wearing

• Safety Goggles
• Gloves
• Safety shoes

6. Procedure
1.Weigh 3 gm of the material in 250ml beaker.
2.Add about 100-150 ml of hot distilled water.
3.Allow the sample to cool.
4.Put the sample on the stirrer.
5.Put the electrode and titrator in the sample.
6.Press start and enter the weigh of the sample then press
start again.
7. Record the concentration of chloride.
