research, embrace corporate social responsibility.

According to the academic research discussed in the article, nowadays consumers are
becoming more aware of the harm caused by businesses, for example, the research found
that sales increased when companies announced they were taking actions connected to
their core business, and decreased when they took unrelated actions. It has also been
revealed that the perception consumers have of a certain company influences how likely
they are to think of the company’s actions as sincere, and thus, how likely they are to buy
products or services from such companies. Companies should effectively communicate their
goals, especially regarding environmental issues. Transparent communication about the
actions taken and addressing past harm is crucial in building consumer trust and support.

To sum up, companies should engage in CSR activities, mostly relating to their area of
business. They should ensure that they are perceived as sincere and trustworthy and ensure
good and transparent communication with their customers.
