1.0 Background of The Festival

This Book fair festival has been run in 2006 until know. This festival has been a
usually event in the year that really make people wait for its, because of this the places of the
event has been change to Pusat Konvensyen Shah Alam (SACC) in year 2011. The knew
places has a lot of facilities to offer. From the beginning this event does not have any
welcome among the people, just a couple of years this event has a lot of people that
participating in the event. The welcome from the people has make authorities make a
decision to improve the event organise.

2.0 The purpose of the event
The purpose of this event is to attract people to come and read book to explore the
knowledge. The knowledge is very important to person to survive in the new era and the
knowledge also will make that person event better that before. New days people don have any
interesting in reading physical book because they more interested in e-book. True this
platform (PPAS). As we can see the benefit is among the people that has strong habits in
reading book and this will make them has a good personality among other people. For
example, mental stimulations that need people to read to stimulate their brain, other than that
we also can play puzzle to help we to memories think its also can help people to reduce stress
among knows day people who has a lot of problem. Besides, its also can help students that
study in faculty of language that make them to read a lot of book just to improve the writing
skill, also bring vocabulary expansion and stronger analytical thinking skill that really help
students in study. Enough for the benefit toward the reading people, let’s move to surrounding
people, for the purpose of business it’s can help local people to generate their income and
make people bounding among the authorise and the most important is we can make a forum
among the international book fair to publish book in local market. Last not lees, we can
analysis the knew trend about the focus of the world on certain topic such as, politic,
economic, human right, war, and so on and we can prove that we as a Malaysian citizen can
make a huge event that make other world to see and make as a reference.

Time 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for Monday to Friday for Saturday and Sunday is on 10

5.0 Discuss the strength, weaknesses, opportunity and threat (SWOT) elements of the event.

What is the SWOT analysis?

SWOT analysis is a strategic planning technique used to help a person or organization

identify strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to business competition or
project planning. It is intended to specify the objectives of the business venture or project and
identify the internal and external factors that are favourable and unfavourable to achieving
those objectives. For general meaning this analysis just to make an improvement for the event
in the reports and for the future event.

Strengths

Strengths can be defined as characteristics of the business or project that give it an

advantage over other. For this Pesta Buku Selangor its really give a lot of advantage to
surrounding the event place. This Pesta Buku Selangor having been in operation from year
2006 and until know as we can see. Pesta Buku Selangor is always known for quality and
quantity for all type of book that has been display on the pesta. Book that has been display in
the Pesta Buku Selangor are very high quality produced and printed by the best printing press
in the country. Other than that, this pesta buku are also provide a huge of book from different
author that all has been collect around the country just to collect them in one place.

Pesta Buku Selangor has already known since 2006 and this will make people notice
about the event that has been happen every year. Form years 2006, its has been improve in
location in years 2011 from small place to large place which is (SACC) that has a huge place
for car parking beside the shopping mall and the strategies place from any other place to
come over. This facility has made people more like too came to this pesta buku. For example,
a lot of car parking, mouse, café, food truck, wash room, the place in the eco environment
and so on. However, Pesta Buku Selangor can promote the local author that has a lot of
experiences that can be share to other. Its also help the economic to grows in the future and
can help people from be a jobless. This kind of activities can make as a year routine for a
family to came and make a better knowledge to family members and also we can have a good
time together.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses know as a characteristic of the business that place the business or project
at a disadvantage relative to others. All the event has their own weakness that they need to
overcome to make the event more growth in the smoother ways in future. Some people like to
analysis the weakness of the certain event just to make them self-comfortable to come, and
this will make the event more to be like if the weakness is on the lower rage. During the event
it will make some traffic jam in certain place just because of the event and this will happen
during the event time so it will make people who rush in going to work mad at the event
organizer.

Other than that, date of the event also makes same problem to certain people such as
students who don’t have public holiday to come and some other people. 27 February until 8
March 2020 just a beginning of the years I say this because on January we already spend a lot
of money to our own kid to enter the school, because of this we cannot bring them to the
event to buy book. Besides, only certain people can come to the event and certain cannot just
because of the date problem and this will be disturbing the event visitor. One more thing is
about the media social progress is just involve the (SINAR) and (MEDIA SELANGOR) that
has authorities to conduct the media social which mean other media cannot. What I want to
say is this certain media social just for some people, because of this people does know about
the event and the media social is one for whole country (SINAR) and one more (MEDIA
SELANGOR) just for Selangor citizen to notice about this.

Opportunities

Opportunities which is an element in the environment that the business or project

could exploit to its advantage. This event knows as a place for people that search for book
and knowledge about the current issue and certain thing that they search for their life. This
kind of perspective, Pesta Buku Selangor just focus on the book fair and the thing that
accurate with the knowledge. Because of this rule, the organiser not really focus on another
thing that not really need to be focus on. So that the local shop does not have place to run a
business during the pesta buku and this thing will make down the local business man or
women who want to find extra money during that festival. For example, don have small shop

who sell apam balik, ayam percik and so on. This event just focusses on book fair only and
this really make other people cannot make some opportunities among the pesta buku.

However, it can increase the state economic during the pesta buku. I say this because
people from other state like to come to the event just to buy book, and this will happen if the
media social has sprate to them, if no what can I say. If yes, it really made the state economic
increase and government can make a huge of money. Other than that, visitor can visit another
place during the pesta buku its not complete if you don’t go to see other thing in the state,
right?

Threats

Threats is the elements in the environment that could cause trouble for the business or
project. The thing is the raining season will make some problem to visitors to come because
the car parking which is has a huge among of area. Other than that, the hall uses a huge
amount of electricity because of this we really scare that will be a blackout during the pesta
buku. Because of this thing we should try to make some thing that can overcome this danger.
We also need more security guards on this event because certain gates don has enough
security guards to secure the gates and also help the visitor to take their thing. When we make
a lot of sponsorship, they want ask more from we as an organiser of the event and most
important thing is what we have done in promoting their brand or their product in the event.
This kind of thing has a huge of risk among both of them. Its really scare the organiser about
the sponsorship because if the event does not finish yet the sponsorship can make a drastic
decision towards the event and this will make a huge amount of loss in the financial of the
event.

The new problem is pandemic of covid-19 has made a drastic decision towards this
Pesta Buku Selangor which is this pesta buku need to be postpone because of the MCO in our
country, to prevent the spread of the covid-19. This kind of problem need to be face because
we don have any choice and because of this also we can learn a new thing such as online
learning, online business and so on.

 In conclusion, SWOT analysis is very important towards any event not just small
event even huge event also need to use SWOT analysis to realise the mistake of the event.
This kind of analysis can help the organiser to improve the event in the future. Because of
this Pesta Buku Selangor need to be more progressive in the future and can attract more
visitor to come every year event. All the weakness of our event will make them understand
better and try to make some knew thing in the future. All the four type in the SWOT analysis
will help you to understand more in the creating the event and will make you notice about it
and even you can make a huge of money just because you understand. For me the Pesta Buku
Selangor has advantage and disadvantage toward people and we need to try to understand the
situation about the event. Other than that, I can say that the event actually really perfect
because as you can see the places and all the event setup, all is in the good way and its really
suit to local favourite, its call as Malaysian ways in creating event. I also hope that the event
organiser will make some improvement in the next event such as add more small local shop,
add more security, add more people in involve in the event and so on that can make the event
more perfect in the future.
