Introduction

Analytical chemistry plays an important role in all fields of sciences. This course will
introduces the fundamental principlpes of analytical chemistry and their practical applications,
especially life sciences, environmental sciences and pharmaceutical analysis. Upon completion
of the course, participants will able to develop systematic reasoning in selection of appropriate
analytical methodologies in scientific research. This 4 modules course is suitable for anyone
interested in analytical sciences.

Course outline

- A basic background in the chemical principles, particularly important to analytical


chemistry

- The ability to judge the accuracy and precision of experimental data and to show how these
judgments can be sharpened by the application of statistical methods

- A wide range of techniques that are useful in modern analytical chemistry

- The skills needed to solve analytical problems in a quantitative manner
