Organization
With a strong focus on complete solutions maximizing value for customers, Alcatel-Lucent is organized around four operating segments and three geographic regions. Applications focus on developing and maintaining innovative applications and software products for our global customer base. Networks are responsible for managing our network product portfolio, in line with the companys High Leverage Network strategy. It provides industryleading products that address our customers network requirements in all market segments such as service providers, strategic industries and enterprises. Services supports a networks entire life cycle, including consultation, integration, migration and transformation, deployment, maintenance and management of operations. Our fourth operating segment includes mainly our Industrial Components-Vacuum business. The company's geographic regions are the Americas; Europe, Middle East, and Africa; and Asia Pacific. In addition, Alcatel-Lucents Enterprise and Strategic Industries organization focuses on the needs of business customers as well as those of strategic industries that require carrier-grade, mission-critical communications systems for their operations. Innovation & Technology

Alcatel-Lucent is one of the largest innovation powerhouses in the communications industry, representing an R&D investment of Euro 2.4 billion, and a portfolio of more than 27,500 active patents spanning virtually every technology area. Nearly 60 years earlier, ITT had purchased most of AT&Ts manufacturing operations outside the United States. Lucent Technologies was spun off from AT&T.

Operating Segments
Alcatel-Lucents four operating segments are responsible for developing, delivering and supporting best-in-class products, solutions and services for our service providers, enterprise and strategic industries customers. These operating segments, along with our Enterprise and Strategic Industries organization, are aligned to support our Application Enablement vision and the High Leverage Network architecture. Applications develops innovative solutions for both service providers and enterprises under the leadership of Paul Segre. Service providers use the groups solutions to create innovative and profitable products for consumers, such as digital home management and rich media applications that span mobile and connected devices. Through service providers as well as through direct channels, the group enables enterprises to deploy applications to transform their customer service capabilities across multiple channels including internet, e-mail, phone and mobile. The common focus is developing software that enriches the personal communications experience for people.

Networks, under the leadership of Philippe Keryer, is responsible for driving network product portfolio, addressing our customers network requirements in all market segments, including service providers, strategic industries and enterprises. This operating segment aligns its R&D focus within the High Leverage Network framework across all ground-breaking technologies of our portfolio: IP, optics including submarine, fixed broadband access, core networks, wireless, and radio frequency systems. It provides an industry-leading product portfolio that allows our customers to profitably deploy scalable, IP-enabled, multi-access networks that enable new and differentiating services. Services is the telecom industrys most experienced and knowledgeable services partner. Headed by Vivek Mohan, Services includes more than 18,000 network experts supporting the worlds largest service providers, providing a broad and comprehensive set of professional services that encompass the entire network lifecycle consultation, integration, migration and transformation, deployment, maintenance and management of operations. DELIVERY OPERATIONS
Delivery operation department is dealing with order management from origin till shipment delivery mainly in Pakistan in line with Iran and Afghanistan. D/O runs against the areas of: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Imports & Exports Warehousing Site Dispatches Invoicing Inventory Management

The main customers in Pakistan are 1. Mobilink 2. CMPAK 3. NLC 4. PTCL With the emerging need of DSL and its increasing demand new markets appears and two new names are added in Alcatel-Lucents client list i.e. Cyber net Nayatel My scope & responsibility of work during the tenure of my job was:

Understand the processes of D/O Reconciliation of Dispatch record for CMPAK project (phase-1) using Micro Soft Excel (VLOOKUP) that is the core initial report for analyzing the per unit cost of the equipment that has been received in bombs, so that the available remaining budget of the project will be identified and remaining equipment should be delivered . Basic inventory reporting using SAP Understand the processes & need of Transmission Plan in D/O

During this period I avail the opportunity to learn and excel my knowledge practically, & understanding organizational practices
