CIRCLE
A circle is a closed figure which has no edges or corners
CENTRE :
The centre of the circle is called a centre
CIRCUMFERENCE :
The enclosing boundary of a circle is called
as circumference.
RADIUS :
A straight line drawn from the centre of the circle to
the circumference of the cirle is called as radius.
Infinite number of radius can be drawn in a circle.
CHORD:
The line segment, joining any two points on the
circumference is called a chord.
210 chords can be drawn in a circle.
DIAMETRER :
A chord which passes through the centre of the
circle is called as a diameter, it is the biggest chord of the circle.
Diameter is twice the radius.
Infinite number of diameters can be drawn in a circle.
(i)Exterior Point :
A plane lying on the same plane as that of circle is
called an exterior point , if its distance from centre of the circle is
greater than the radius of the circle

(ii) Interior point:

A point lying In the same plane as that of the
circle is called as interior point, if its distance from the centre of
the circle is less than the radius of the circle.
Point on the circumference of the circle:
A point in the same plane
as that of the circle will be on the circumference of the circle, if its
distance from the centre of the circle is equal to the radius of the
circle.
Concentric circles :
Two or more circles which have same centre and
different radii

Equal circle :
Circles are said to be equal if they have equal radii.
Equal circles are also called congruent circles
Circumscribed circle :
A circle that passes through all the vertices
of a polygon is called a circumscribed circle. The centre of
circumscribed circle is called circumcentre and the polygon is called
inscribed polygon.
Inscribed circle :
A circle that touches all the sides of a polygon is
called a inscribed circle of the polygon.

Arc, segment and sector

Arc :
A part of the circumference of a circle is called arc .
Segment :
The part of the circle, bounded by an arc and a chord, is
called a segment.
Sector :
The region bounded by an arc and two radii, joining the
centre to the end points of the arc, is called sector.

Chord properties
Theorem 22 :
A straight line drawn from the centre of a centre to
bisect a chord, which is not a diameter, is at right angles to the
chord.

Theorem 23 :
The perpendicular to a chord, from the centre of the
circle, bisects the chord.
Theorem 24 :
Equal chords of a circle are equidistant from the
centre.

Theorem 25 :
Chords of a circle, equidistant from the centre of the
centre of the circle.
Theorem 26 ;
There is one and only one circle, which passes
through three given points not in a straight line.
