1) Voyage: Voyage is basically period of traveling/ operating. The Voyage record acts as a container
for all operational activities that take place during the voyage. To report any activities in Voyage
Manager a voyage record should be created, once it is created you can record all daily
operations and activities during that period against this Voyage. Voyage has below statuses,
2) Leg: A leg is one part of voyage, usually between two points where you start /stop operations.
One voyage can have multiple legs. In NSE we have defined below 4 leg types
a. OPERATIONAL: If the vessel is On Hire or Operational leg type should be selected as
“Operational”
b. PLANNED DOWNTIME: If there is any planned activity scheduled and vessel is not
operational then leg type should be selected as “PLANNED DOWNTIME”
c. UNPLANNED DOWNTIME: Due to any unavoidable circumstance’s vessel is not
operating then leg type should be selected as “UNPLANNED DOWNTIME”
d. COMMERCIAL OFFHIRE: If the vessel is not operational due to commercial activities
then leg type should be selected as “COMMECIAL OFFHIRE”
Leg has below statuses,
3) Events: Events are the activities that are performed during Voyage. In Voyage Manager events
gives us ability to report all the activities into system so that those can be reported, measured
and tracked. In NSE we have defined various events which are categorized as per the Leg type as
follows
6) Enter the voyage activities, there are various activities added. Please select all the appropriate
activities performed during the event and enter date and time for the same. You can add
additional comments if required, click on Save
7) Once all information is filled you can click on Save button on bottom and then complete the
event by clicking complete button on top
1) In unplanned downtime you must select the correct event to specify the cause of downtime,
the cause of downtime can be as follows
a. Unavailability of spares
b. Equipment Failure
c. Certification Issues
d. Fire/Flood/Collision/ Grounding
e. Failed Client requirement fulfillment
f. Failed MSM requirement fulfillment
g. Local content issues
h. Emergency dockings
i. Extension of an existing docking
j. IT Issues
4) If the downtime is more than one day, then please create the daily report and continue to enter
details
5) When coming out of downtime please create same event of downtime but this time select
Arrival as Yes, enter the remarks then click on save and complete
2.3.3 If the leg type is Planned Downtime
1) In Planned downtime you must select the correct event to specify the cause of downtime, the
cause of downtime can be as follows
a) Relocation
b) Maintenance days
c) Dockings
d) Survey & audit
e) Mob/de-mob
4) If the downtime is more than one day, then please create the daily report and continue to enter
details
5) When coming out of downtime please create same event of downtime but this time select
Arrival as Yes, enter the remarks then click on save and complete
2.3.4 If the leg type is Commercial Off hire
6) In Commercial Off hire you must select the correct event to specify the cause of downtime, the
cause of downtime can be as follows
a) Reason per sales funnel
b) Mobilization / demobilization
c) Warm lay-up
d) Cold lay-up
9) If the off hire is more than one day, then please create the daily report and continue to enter
details
10) When coming out of off hire please create same event of off hire but this time select Arrival as
Yes, enter the remarks then click on save and complete
Section 2.4 Completing Leg
When vessel goes form one state to another i.e., from operational to off hire then you can complete the
existing leg and open new leg with leg type
4) Select the open leg, click on complete Leg and then click on Save

When vessel goes form one charterer to other then you can complete the existing voyage and open new
voyage
