Personal Letter.

Like its name, it’s a letter for dealing with personal matters. If you write a letter and send it to
someone, like your family or friends, and its content concerns a personal opinion, quality, or thing
that belongs to you as the writer, that is called a personal letter.

A personal letter is different from a business letter.

- A personal letter usually uses informal language, casual and more relaxed, or you can say less
formal than formal language. You can use your everyday language as long as the recipient
understands what you mean,
- Since personal letter uses informal language, the salutation is usually given by ‘Dear (the
name of the recipient)’ such as Dear Mother, and the signature can be ‘Your lovely daughter’,
not the formal one,
- Its content is about personal matters between the writer and the recipient. It can be about
congratulating your friend’s birthday, telling your family you got a job, congratulating your
sister after giving birth, and many more as long as it is personal.
