Spaghetti is a classic Italian pasta dish that's typically served with a variety of sauces.

Here's a basic
recipe for making spaghetti with a simple tomato sauce. You can add meat, vegetables, or cheese
to customize it to your liking.

Ingredients:

 8 ounces (about 225g) of dried spaghetti

 2 cups of tomato sauce (store-bought or homemade)
 2 cloves of garlic, minced
 2 tablespoons of olive oil
 Salt and pepper to taste
 Fresh basil or parsley (for garnish, optional)
 Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving, optional)

Equipment:

 Large pot
 Large skillet
 Colander
 Tongs or a fork

Instructions:

.
Boil the Spaghetti:
.
 Fill a large pot with water and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring the water to a boil.
 Add the spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook according to the package instructions,
usually 8-12 minutes, or until it reaches your preferred level of doneness. Stir occasionally
to prevent sticking.
 When the spaghetti is cooked, use tongs or a fork to transfer it to a colander and drain.
Do not rinse the pasta, as you want the sauce to cling to it.
.
Prepare the Sauce:
.
 While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
 Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant but not
browned.
 Pour in the tomato sauce and season with salt and pepper. Simmer the sauce for about
10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
.
Combine Spaghetti and Sauce:
.
 Add the cooked and drained spaghetti to the skillet with the tomato sauce.
 Toss the pasta in the sauce, ensuring it's well coated. Cook for a couple of minutes to heat
through.
.
Serve:
.
 Transfer the sauced spaghetti to individual plates or a serving dish.
 Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

You can also customize your spaghetti by adding cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the
sauce for a meaty version. Feel free to experiment with various vegetables, herbs, or spices to
create your own unique spaghetti sauce.
