game developed by Eisgruber also illustrates how a game model may
be converted into a closed sim~lation.’~
A major limitation preventing most games from providing the basis
foq worthwhile closed simulations, is the relative simplicity of the game
model. The teaching-learning objectives of gaming have frequently been
achieved with much simpler and less realistic models than are required
for a closed simulation designed to test alternative real world strategies.m
