TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF A GENERATOR SET

IN THE AFRICAN UNION COMMISSION COMPOUND IN ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA

The African Union, established as a unique Pan African continental body, is charged with
spearheading Africa’s rapid integration and sustainable development by promoting unity,
solidarity, cohesion and cooperation among the peoples of Africa and African States as well as
developing a New Partnership worldwide. Its Headquarters is located in Addis Ababa, capital city
of Ethiopia.

The African Union has allocated funds for the procurement of the above mentioned goods and
ancillary services, and now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply, Installation
and Commissioning of a Generator Set in the African Union Commission Compound in
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The African Union Commission now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply,
Installation and Commissioning of a Generator Set.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents
at the African Union Commission, Procurement and Travel Division, Third Floor, Building C,
Roosevelt Street, Old Airport, P.O Box 3234, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The telephone and Fax

AND/OR ELECTRONIC OFFERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Bid documents can also be
accessed on the African Union Commission website: www.africa-union.org

Interested bidders may obtain a complete set of bidding documents from African Union
Commission free of charge at the address indicated above.

The bids should be sent clearly marked, “Tender for the Supply, Installation and
Commissioning of a Generator Set in Building A of the African Union Commission
Headquarters In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia” and addressed to the Chairperson, African Union

Commission (AUC) Tender Board, and must be received not later than Friday, 30 September,
2010 at 15:00 hours local time.

The bids must be deposited in the Tender Box on the 3rd floor, Building C, African Union
Commission, Roosevelt Street, Old Airport, P.O. Box 3243 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on or before
Friday, 30th September, 2010 at 15:00 hours local time and must be accompanied by a bid
security of not less than 2% of the bid price. Any clarifications can be addressed to Vincent

The closing date for the receipt of bids is Friday, 30th September, 2010 at 15:00 hours local
time and any bid received after the time and date stipulated above will not be accepted. The bids
will be opened thereafter in the Conference Room on the 3rd floor, Building C, African Union
Commission, Roosevelt Street, Old Airport, P.O. Box 3243 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the presence
of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend. Late bids shall not be accepted.
