Cable & Moore is expanding into new markets and anticipates increased sales revenues. However, the management recognizes the importance of customer service in new markets. If customers have problems with the new service and can't resolve them quickly, demand will erode rapidly. Therefore, management demands well-trained customer service representatives to handle calls from new and potential customers. Based on past experience, projected call volumes and average call times were used to project customer service hours needed from April to August. Management knows training new employees is essential, with a 1-month training program and experienced employees mentoring for a month at reduced productivity. Trainees are paid $2,000 monthly during training then $3,000 regularly, though typically 5% of trained representatives
