PROCEDURE FOR SHIPPING WOMEN’S CLOTHES EXPORT COMMODITIES FROM

KALIMANTAN TO MALAYSIA VIA LAND TRANSPORTATION

1. CUSTOMER ORDER
Customers order a collection of women's pants, blazers, skirts, blouses, dresses and
scarves in various quantities in women's sizes 0 to 18 on Sorina's website. Sorina's staff
needs to pay attention to order details due to variations in patterns (paisley and chevron),
colors (burgundy and blue) and sizes. Sending the wrong item or quantity can result in
customer complaints and lost sales for products that didn’t arrive on time for seasonal
shopping.

2. ORDER PROCESSING
The Processing Team checks the customer's order of the right quantity, size, type of
clothing, and color. They send order confirmation to Customers. Sorina's inventory
management system allocates these items so that clothes are no longer available for sale
to others. The system sends the order manifest and retrieves the ticket to the warehouse.

3. REPLENISHMENT
Workers move clothes from remote storage to shipping warehouses to replace purchased
products as necessary. Sorina's planners noted that certain blazers were selling faster than
expected and asked garment makers to sew more.
4. PICKING
Warehouse staff use a zone strategy to select clothes for multiple orders. Workers hang
Picture Perfect blouses, for example, on electric garment racks along with blouses that
are part of orders from two other retailers. They use barcodes to differentiate orders

5. PACKING, STAGING AND LOADING

All the clothing items in Customers order are gathered at the packaging station. A
staff member scans the barcode on the hanger to make sure the order is correct. Pack the
order box with tissues, so that the clothes do not wrinkle. They put the boxes together on
pallets, shrink, wrap pallets and affix the destination and manifest labels.
Packers divide customer orders into two groups, one for its distribution center in the
West and the other for its distribution center in the East. Each joins another order heading
in the same direction with the same level of service. Customer orders will travel through
ground shipping because they are not in a hurry for delivery. Workers load pallets onto
exit trucks

6. SHIPPING AND DOCUMENTATION

The order departed. The Sorina system records shipments and sends tracking information
to customers. The Sorina system also sends arrival information to the chain's distribution
center
