13 Shelter Individual - (hootchie) 1 This will be issued to all cadets that do not
choose to bring one of the other options on
arrival.

NOTES
1 All items to be marked with cadets personal and unit details.
Personnel are to where possible be possession of service issue equipment. Due to the deficiencies in
the Block Scales or issues shortages to unit this may not be possible. Where an individual has their

own equipment in lieu of an issue item, provided this item is acceptable to unit CO/OC, then this
equipment may be used.
3 Patrol Order (Tables 1 and 2) must be able to sustain the individual for periods up to 24 h
4 All items are to be silenced, all pouches to be secured and all straps to be taped or tied
5 No equipment (such as knives or torches) to be attached to the outside of webbing.
6 Items like spare clothing and sleeping equipment should be in waterproof bags
The following items cannot be carried by cadets of any rank. Pressurised containers, aerosols, flick

knifes or any knife with blade exceding 50 mm in length, cigarettes, alcohol of any description.
