SEMI AVCTIVE SUSPENSION:

1. Semi automatic suspension is used only for adjustments of damping

rates.
2. The various sensor have been discussed in previous slide, the
sensors are used to detect the vehicle behaviour and sends the datas
to the ECU.
3. The data’s are used to determine the optimal damping characteristics
for each wheel independently by the ECU.
4. Then the ECU sends the signal to make adjustments to the
electronically controlled valves
5. It is used to change the flow of hydraulic fluid within the shock
absorber.
6. if the system detects that a wheel is hitting a bump, it can quickly
reduce the damping force to allow the wheel to move more freely and
absorb the impact.

BENEFITS:
 Ride Comfort
 Improved Handling
 Cost-Effective
 Lower Maintenance
 Fuel Efficiency

• Semi-active suspension systems are commonly found in a variety of

vehicles, including mid-range and high-end models
Electronic ACTIVE SUSPENSION SYSRTEM:

1. ACTIVE suspension is used for adjustments of damping rates as well

as stiffness
2. Same as semi active suspension the sensors are used to send the
data signals to ECU
3. ECU send the adjustment signals to actuators
4. actuators can adjust, spring stiffness, and other suspension
parameters, in addition to damping
5. electronically controlled valve is used to change the flow of hydraulic
fluid within the shock absorber
6. if the system detects that a wheel is hitting a bump, it can quickly
reduce the damping force to allow the wheel to move more freely and
absorb the impact.
7. During cornering, the system can stiffen the suspension on wheels to
reduce body roll,
Many electronic suspension systems offer various driving modes, such as
"comfort," "sport," or "adaptive." Drivers can select these modes to change
the suspension settings to match their. The ECU will then make real-time
adjustments based on the chosen mode.

This type of electronic suspension is used in luxury cars and SUVs.

BENEFITS:
 Improved Ride Comfort
 Enhanced Handling
 Better Traction
 Enhanced Off-Road Capability
AIR SPRING SUSPENSION SYSTEM

1. the main function of an air spring suspension system is to provide

load-leveling and ride height adjustment for a vehicle.
2. Load sensors are used in air spring suspension systems. They
measure the load placed on each wheel,.
3. Based on the data from the sensors the ECU calculates the optimal
air pressure for each air spring.
4. To control air pressure, the ECU communicates with the air
compressor and air control valves. The air compressor is responsible
for generating compressed air,
5. Based on the ECU's calculations the control valves in the air
suspension system can be adjusted to release or supply compressed
air to the air springs. When the ECU determines that a change in air
pressure is necessary, it sends commands to the valves to make real-
time adjustments.
6. when a heavy load is added to the vehicle, the system can increase
the air pressure to lift the vehicle to its desired height.

BENEFITS:
 Adjustable Ride Height
 Customizable Stiffness
 Smooth Ride
 Load-Leveling
 Improved Traction
