Project, Parasi, Nepal’s First Privately owned project running more than 50 months. Now, next
venture is 4.4MW Som RadhaKrishna Solar Farm Project, Kaski, running more than 10
months. Our venture in Off Grid Solar system is financial sector Siddhartha Bank Ltd (190

Deerwalk 54KW; Industry sector Asian Paints - 17KW; telecommunication sectors (Hello

(Worldlink, Subisu) which we have installed solar backup system.

 Major Project Technical Details
i. Bishnu Priya Solar Farm Project

Surya Power Company Pvt Ltd successfully commissioned Bishnu Priya solar farm project on June 6th, 2017.
The solar farm is the largest solar power plant in Nepal and is also the first and only private sector-led
initiative at this scale to be connected to the grid. The plant has been in operation and providing steady
power to National grid and the factory since 6th June 2017.

The plant provides power to M K Paper Mills Pvt Ltd

(recycling paper plant) and surplus energy is
feedback to the grid. The plant also has a large
battery backup system (probably the largest battery
bank in the subcontinent), which can run the
factory for nearly four hours without power supply.
The system also stabilizes the grid voltage from
NEA’s unstable grid voltage supply and supply Bishnu Priya Solar Farm Project, 1MW
power to the factory at a constant voltage.

The total project cost was NRs. 200 Million in which

UNDP supported us with NRs. 1 Million and Government of Nepal provided 4.5% interest subsidy on the
prevailing rate. The solar plant is expected to produce around 1.7 GWh of clean power a year. The plant also
has a water pipeline of around 5 KM to clean the solar panel as well as to irrigate cash crop production
below the solar panels. 100 people were employed during the construction phase and the plant is providing
three people with full-time employment at the moment.

The salient feature of the project:

Solar PV: 1.00464 MWP (3864 sets of 260 Wp REC solar panel)
On-grid Inverter size: 960kw (16 sets of 60 kW SMA inverter)
Off-grid inverter size: 800KVA (4 X 200KVA)
Battery storage capacity: 2.3 MWH (384 sets of 2 volts X 3000AH)
Expected production in a year: 1.7 GWh of electricity
Co2 saving: 43M tons in 25 years

 ii. Som Radha Krishna Solar Farm Project
Surya Power Company Pvt. Ltd. is currently working on Som Radha Krishna Solar Farm Project 4.4
MW, Utility Scale Solar PV Grid tied Project awarded by Nepal Electricity Authority. The installed
capacity of the project is 4.4 MW and the project lies at Ward 6 Rupa Rural Municipality, Kaski
District of Gandaki Province of Nepal. The plant has been in operation and providing steady power
to National grid since 31th October 2022.
Surya Power Company through Nepal Solar Farm Pvt. Ltd. have already received survey license for
Som Radhakrishna Solar Farm Project of 4.4MW (License 075/76 - 1076). The electricity generated
is proposed to connect to Integrated Nepal Power System (INPS) through 33 kV single circuit
transmission line to Lekhnath Substation. The Grid Connection Agreement is already signed
between Nepal Electricity Authority and Nepal Solar Farm Pvt. Ltd. The total cost of the project is
500 Million which will be supported by ADB during power purchase by NEA.

iii. Banking Institution

a. Surya Power Company Pvt. Ltd ventured into the banking sector from 2013 AD through
Siddhartha Bank Ltd and have successfully installed in more than 180 Branches till date. The
first site of Siddhartha Bank is Dailekh Branch of Karnali Province which is still working
properly. For Fiscal Year 2077-78 we have signed agreement with Siddhartha Bank for 29
new branches in which we have already installed in 17 new branches.
b. Beside this, we have installed in 62 branches of Kumari Bank and we have 25 more branches
to install the solar backup system. We have installed in Shangrila Development Bank,
Prabhu Bank, Global IME Bank and other commercial Banks of Nepal. We ourselves have
designed the Solar Backup System for the Banks of Nepal considering the banking
requirements of Nepal.

 iv. DeerWalk Institute of Technology

Surya Power Company Pvt. Ltd. have been installing Institutional Solar Backup System from the
very beginning of the Company. DeerWalk Institute of Technology, Siphal is one of the satisfied
customer of Surya Power, where we had install 52kWp system in 2016 and have been giving
continuous support for proper functioning of the Backup System.

backup system of the Norwegian Embassy, Patan.
