1. Camden Mobile Health Bus


Website: Camden mobile health - Camden Council
Who is it for: For all people (online says 30/35 and over?): Permanent service
Location: Every week the location of the bus changes. It is updated every 2 weeks.
Update is also on website (was told this but cannot find online)
Time: VARIES
Services offered: free walk-in service, no appointment needed - age, height, weight,
blood pressure are checked - preventative diabetes check – if on board doctor can do
blood tests - 15 to 30 minutes long - will discuss your results with person
People and Names: Renon (first person we spoke with), second person (not sure of
name)
Extra notes: - We have given our email to be on the mailing list. (To receive location
biweekly) - 100% voluntary (no part of the check is forced) - Identification for each
person is not done (No check result is stored online, only paper slips) - Can do
referrals to GP if a resident of Camden council – homeless are accepted
2. SHOC
Website: CLASH and SHOC | CNWL Sexual Health Services
Who is it for: free and confidential walk-in clinic for people working in the sex
industry. No age mentioned
Location: N19 5SE, Archway Centre, 681-689 Holloway Rd, Upper Holloway, London
(25 min walk, 15 mins by bus 43/263). Archway Station
Time: Thursday (all genders) 12pm to 3pm. Walk-in on a first come first serve.
Telephone interpreters available. (The main health centre is open Mon – Thur 8:30 –
19:00, Fri 8:30 – 15:00) Archway Centre Sexual Health Clinic, London (cnwl.nhs.uk)
Services offered: STI test - hepatitis B vaccination - PEP and PrEP (HIV prevention
before and after contact) - contraception including emergency contraception,

Extra notes: also do abortion referrals and cervical testing

3. Bridging The Gap Mentoring

Who is it for: ANYONE at risk of homelessness and offending and homeless peoples –
those willing to change & not violent – 18 to 65 years old – the client must have
phone (they have a freephone number for those with no credit will be given after
form is completed)
Location: not given online or in person – once referred meet up location is decided
by client and mentor
Time: to contact them regular office hours (9- 5 Mon – Fri)
Services offered: client MUST be referred to them to use service (no self-referrals) -
16-week service – voluntary mentor meet up once weekly – never meet up at home
– help client to build resilience
People and Names: Banesa Fory and Robin Latimer
Extra notes: if the client needs more time, they will be given a different mentor –
they can also have less time – this service aims to disconnect people from the
criminal justice system by uplifting them to complete their goals – NO LEGAL ADVICE

4. Right to food march

Who is it for: they are a connection of campaign groups in Haringey – they advocate
for all people (it is a human right to have easy access to nutritious food)
Location: Haringey (not one main centre)
Time: on poster, Sister Mulu may have it
Services offered: connections to many different groups – campaigning events
People and Names: spoke with one lady who also worked at the Streets Kitchen
table
Extra notes: Their march is soon – it could be useful to see what groups they are
connected to
5. Single Homeless Project (SHP)

Who is it for: only homeless people referred by an organisation or council rep.
Location: LONDON WIDE. Main base = NW1 9XB, London Irish Centre - 50-52
Camden Square, London (31 min walk, 15 – 20 min bus 29/253/293)
Time: to contact (usual office hours 9-5 pm Mon – Fri) – they hold fundraising
services throughout the year.
Services offered: individual advice for each person – directs them to a specific
service after an initial review – able to deal with complex needs – 8 main services
(Hostels, help maintain own tenancy [rent], young people, substance abuse, mental
health, help those offending, refugees, street outreach: directly looking for people)

Extra notes: support and change the lives of 10,000 people each year – for us GCLC
we should refer people to the Islington council’s ‘Housing Needs service’ (Duty to

and they will send out a team to look for them at the location we give them
6. Leiho
Website & contact: Leiho - Making a Difference with Every Purchase

Who is it for: supporting those who are homeless, anyone who does not have access
to basic needs (clothing, hygiene products, food)
Location: have different pop ups/ merchandise in stores
Time: Stockists & Pop Ups – Leiho , upcoming sip and paint event (paid)
Services offered: free items to those in need/ homeless – items sold online such as
socks and tees, caps, tote bags – with this income 5% is donated
People and Names: Joey and Thuta
Extra notes: did not have much time to talk as they were leaving - we can benefit by
letting them know that we supply directly to homeless
7. Islington Peoples Theatre

8. Streets Kitchen (Solidarity Not Charity)


Website: About - Streets Kitchen
Who is it for: anyone who is hungry.
Location: N7 6AA, 48 Seven Sisters Road, Islington, London (7 min bus 153, 9 min
walk)
Time: many different soup kitchens
Services offered: food to the hungry – a directory of soup kitchens for any one to
access
People and Names: John was the one managing the stall at this Streets Fest
Extra notes: Began 5 years ago – how do they get the food and how do they store it?
9. Hearthstone

Who is it for: anyone at danger because of their home situation (Men women
children alike)
Location: Haringey (building address not given or found online)
Time: Mon – Fri, 9 am – 4pm
Services offered:
People and Names: Grace (she offers a walk-in service each Tuesday afternoon for
women wanting personal advice with a domestic situation)
a. Extra notes: directed to this stall by the one next to it – they would like to visit us –
we gave the two women at the stall posters of GCLC opening day - they have access
to LEGAL ADVICE - Both sister Mulu and Abigail have a poster
10. Women at the Well (WOW)

Who is it for: Women
Location: WC1H 8BB, 54-55 Birkenhead Street, London (North and East London
Outreach) (20 -25 min by bus 91/17, 47 min by walk)
Time: Monday to Thursday 12.30pm - 3.30pm
Services offered: Support to Exit Prostitution – free food, weather appropriate
clothes, shower access – advocacy for victims of trafficking – direct them to health
professionals – support entrance to safe housing – deal with appointments and
emergency referrals Women at the well (watw.org.uk)
People and Names: Spoke with Frannie
Extra notes: they are like us in having small number of workers – we may benefit
from visiting them and gaining from their experience in personal cases and from
being close contacts

Camden Mobile Health Check Bus department may have extra insulation materials. NOT
CONFIRMED, THEORETICAL. (They had an event in the past to insulate their buildings, if we ask, we
might receive some for free). They also had engagement events, knocking on doors in one area
BEFORE their event, to increase awareness.

NB: Did not meet Sarah from the Islington council

All journey times are from the GCLC building TO the other service (by google maps)
