SUBJECT: Tachometer gauge availability

Introduction
Tacho gauge part number 704/50227 is no longer
available.

Follow the procedure to use new tacho kit which can be


installed in place of the original machine gauge.
K Procedure ( T 1).

Procedure
1 Park the machine on a firm level ground.

2 Select the forward and reverse lever to the neutral


position.

3 Select the gear lever to the neutral position.

4 Lower the loader arms and backhoe to the ground.

5 Switch OFF the engine and remove the starter key.

6 Disconnect the battery to prevent the engine from

being started.

7 Gain access to the rear of the tacho gauge.

8 Unplug the cab console harness (8 way female B Two Small Connector
connector) and the two small connectors from the
tacho gauge. K Fig 1. ( T 1). C 8 Way Female Connector

9 Remove the original tacho gauge and install the new


tacho kit. K Fig 2. ( T 2).

Note: The new tacho illumination works only when the


engine is running.

10 Connect the female connector of the cab console All Brazil build 3C
harness into the 8 way male connector on the tacho
kit harness. All 214, 215 and 217

11 Connect the terminal connector on the new tacho kit


into either one of the 830 wire terminals on the side
console harness. K Fig 3. ( T 2).

12 Reconnect the battery and check the tachometer for


correct operation.
