Jennifer Rumney’s Teaching Philosophy

In the ever-changing landscape of education, I believe that the key to

unlocking student potential lies in creating dynamic and engaging
learning environments that foster a love for learning and empower
students to become active participants in their own educational journey.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the following assumptions, goals,
beliefs, and values:

Assumptions:
1. A strong foundation in English Language Arts, specifically reading
and writing, is critical to learning all subjects at all grade levels.
2. Students bring prior knowledge and experiences that I can build on.

Goals:
1. To engineer and reengineer effective learning environments for each
and every one of my students, ensuring they feel safe, supported,
and motivated to learn.
2. To differentiate instruction and tailor teaching strategies to
accommodate the diverse needs, learning styles, and abilities of my
students.
3. To positively impact each student’s journey to self-actualization,
fostering their personal growth, development, and success.

Beliefs:
★ The potential of every student:
○ I believe that each student has the potential to learn, grow, and
succeed. By providing a nurturing and challenging
environment, I aim to unlock their full potential.
★ The power of education:

○ I believe in creating hands-on, interactive, and meaningful
learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem
solving, and creativity. I encourage active participation,
collaboration, and student centered learning to foster deep
understanding and life-long skills.
★ Fair assessment:
○ I strongly believe fair assessment means providing equal
opportunities for all students to showcase their knowledge and
skills. I value using formative assessment techniques, such as
