Fully-funded Honours, Masters and Ph.D. Scholarships in Biostatistics

DST-NRF-SAMRC SARCHI Research Chair in Biostatistics and the Department of Statistics at the University of
Pretoria is seeking applications for postgraduate scholarships in Biostatistics offered by the National
Research Foundation (NRF) of South Africa. Full scholarships are available for Honours, Masters and PhD
degree studies in the Department of Statistics, University of Pretoria. The NRF general application guidelines
for the 2023 intake and the University of Pretoria internal deadlines can be found at:

selection of the candidates and decisions and the scholarships will be administered by the University of
Pretoria. The NRF scholarships are mostly for eligible citizens and permanent residents of South Africa, with
a smaller fraction offered to other nationals.

Generally,
• Honours applicants must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with an average mark of
at least 65%;
• Master’s applicants must have a relevant Honour’s degree or equivalent with an average mark of at
least 65%;
• PhD applicants must have a relevant Master’s degree with an average mark of at least 65%;
