JENNY’S BAD DAY

Read the story below and then answer the comprehension questions below

Jenny got up a bit early because she had an exam that day. She had a bath
instead of a shower to relax her. After that, she ate a healthy breakfast of cereals
with some orange juice. Then she told her mum she was ready. They went to the
car, but the car wouldn’t start! Mum phoned the recovery team, but they said it
would take a long time to get there. Instead, Jenny walked to the bus stop and
waited for the bus. Thankfully, the bus arrived on time. Jenny got on the bus but
then she realized that she didn’t have any money! The driver told her she would
have to get off the bus. Happily, a kind passenger came forward and paid her
fare. Just before they reached Jenny’s school, there was a traffic jam. Jenny’s
heart was beating like a drum. She was frightened she was going to be late for
the exam. Just in the nick of time, Jenny got to school. She sat down and opened
her paper. She didn’t know any of the answers! She began to cry. Just then, her
teacher said, ‘Oh sorry, Jenny, you’ve got the wrong paper!’ She gave Jenny a
different exam and this time, she knew every question! The terrible day had a
happy end!
