It is to submit that the Mission for clean Krishna & Godavari Canals,
Tadepalli vide letter reference 1st cited has submitted a proposal for taking
up "Improvements to Water Supply Scheme" in Amalapuram Municipality and
requested for sanction of Rs.2000.00 Lakhs.

The Commissioner, Amalapuram Munici,Pality m the above letter

submitted that the Honble Minister for Social Welfare Dept. has directed to
formulate proposal for improving the existing, water supply system m
· Amalapuram Municipality and submit the same to the Government.

The Municipal Commissioner submitted that the Amalapuram

Municipality is a first grade Municipality in East Godavari District having
population of 52677 as per 2011 Census and the town is divided in to 30
Municipal Wards.

 The ex sting capacity of Water Treatment Plants (WTP) in Amalapuram
Municipality :is 5.36 MLD (4.0 + 1.36), out of which the 1.36 MLD WTP was
constructed q u ring the year 1975 (i.e. 43 years ago} and at present it is in a

dilapidated condition. Another W.T.P. of 4.00 MLD capacity is commissioned
during the year 2000 with Amalapuram Canal as Source and functioning
satisfactorily.'.The present per-capita supply of treated drinking water is 100
liters, which is being supplied on daily basis.

The Hon'ble Minister for Social Welfare Dept. in the review meeting
held on 05-1.1-2019, instructed the Municipal Commissioner, Amalapuram
to formulate proposals for enhancement of per-capita supply to 150 LPCD.

Accord ingly, a preliminary estimate has been prepared for taking up
work "Improvements to Water Supply Scheme" in Amalapuram
Municipality for an amount of Rs.2000.00 Lakhs by considering the following
components:

which the .total amount of the project is worked out to Rs.2000.00 Lakhs.
The S.E.[PH], Rajamahendravaram vide letter reference 2nd .cited has
recommended the above proposal and requested for sanction.

 In view of the above, the above proposal is.here with recommended for
kind consideration and the Govt. is requested: to accord administrative
sanction for the work "Improvements to Water Supply Improvement Scheme"
in Amalapuram Municipality for Rs.2000.00 Lakhs with suitable method of
finance.
