Basic presentation:
Minecraft is the most sold videogame of all time. It was created by Notch (M. Markus
Persson) on May 17th 2009 and the first official release was published on November 18th
2011. Its development team is Mojang Studio. It is an open world game which is entirely
made out of various blocks.

2. The Gameplay :

There are multiple aspects to Minecraft :

1. Game modes :

- In Survival: You spawn in a near-infinite, randomly generated world, where you have
to fight monsters (also called mobs / entities) and gather resources to build your
home and survive. In hardcore mode, you cannot respawn upon dying.

- In Creative: You have access to all the blocks and items in the game, you have total
freedom of the game and you don't receive damage.

You can play both of these game modes in solo or with friends: You can connect to different
servers online and play together.

Things you can do (change this title) :

- Building: You can place over 800 different blocks in the latest version (1.20.2) and
arrange them however you want, your imagination is the only limit.
- Redstone: redstone is an ore that can be used to craft multiple technical blocks, that
you can then use to engineer complex machinery, such as factories.
- Map making: there is a big community around creating maps for others to play. These
maps can be minigames, parkour, adventure maps or really anything you can think
of.
- PVP: means player versus player, it is essentially fighting each other.

Dimensions:
- Overworld: This is the principal world of you spawn and you can go to the Nether with
10 of obsidian and with a lighter.
- Nether: This dimension was inspired in hell, and there are hostile mobs everywhere.
- End: This is the last dimension, it was inspired in heaven, but here it is the final boss:

 3. Updates:
We have updates of this game every year, and to presentate the update, Mojang made the
MC Live, and in this event, Mojang present 3 mobs to vote, it’s called Mobvote and we are in
the 1.21 update (still no name).

4. Fun facts:
This universe of cubes has easter eggs inside, like…:

- Name tags: If you name a sheep “_jeb” it becomes rainbow-coloured. (jeb is a head
Minecraft developer)
If you name any mob like “dinnerbone” or “grumm” you can turn the mob
upside down. (These two names are also developers)
If you name a pillager/vindicator like Johnny, they kill any mob pacific. It’s
a reference to the film “El resplandor” where a man/psycopate with an axe said ”Johnny is
here”.
- Creepers: This is the most iconic monster in the game. It was made from a bug in the
coding of the pig, and it was the first mob created especially for the game.
- If you try to sleep in another dimension, the bed will violently explode thus killing the
player. Beds are so deadly because Notch originally didn’t want the player to sleep in
the end or nether.
