PART I.

1. Do the activities of businesses need to be more regulated by the Government in the

future?
 Yes indeed, since regulating business activities ensure the safety and welfare of the
customers or the people in the area. Moreover, it provides security to honest
businesses through licensing them and getting rid of businesses that practices
inappropriate or criminal activities.
2. In your opinion, does society need business more than business needs society?
 In my opinion, I would say that they have equal significance because the more
society keeps on evolving or changing, the more they seek for the production or
service of their wants and needs. Meanwhile, inorder for businesses to be created
and operated successfully, they must consider the interest/trend in the society and
cater the demands of people inorder to generate profits and garner customer
satisfaction.
3. Are shareholders the most important stakeholders in a business?
 I guess no, since the most important for me is the customers. Sure, they played a
great role since they are the decision-makers and they invested the money
circulating for business to operate. However, if there is no customers, their dearest
possession will be gone in an instant without even earning the same amount they
have invested.
4. Is there a conflict between maximising profit and operating in a sustainable way?
 There is, especially when businesses have negative financial performance and they
still need to indulge in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Not to mention, they
also have their obligations and expenses for the upcoming years, so, it would be
very difficult generate more profit. In the end, it boils down into how to “do well
while doing good”.

PART II.

As a student what are your social responsibilities? List them down and cite your reasons/purpose.

 Leadership –“No man is an island” we need each other to survive, that is why it is a social
responsibility to take care of the people by taking the lead and helping them with their
needs. In short, being a role model to them.
 Volunteering and Participating– Active participation in events and project and
volunteering in tasks results to productivity and establishing of bonds in the society. This
is what we call the “good will” and eagerness to help.
 Study Well – “Every child is the future of the nation”, that it why it is important to nurture
the minds of every student to help not just the society but the nation as well from
progressing.
 Utilize and Share my Talents and Skills –“Sharing is Caring“. The more you share and use
your talent to other people, the more they will cherish your existence. Moreover, you will
also take a big part in the progress of this society or nation.
 Conserving and Preserving – Even as students, we also need to conserve and preserve
nature and maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding to avoid harmful effects to the
society.
