Unit 6: Advanced paint


Pictures can be edited using Cut, Copy and Paste options
available in the Clipboard group.

To Cut or copy part of a drawing, you select it first using


rectangular or free form selection tool in the image group of
the home tab.

This selected part will be stored in a temporary folder called


Clipboard. You can only retrieve it by selecting the paste option.

To rotate or flip an image, Home tab Image group Rotate


option.
This option is used to rotate or flip a part off or all the picture.

Resize and skew


The resize option resizes the picture and the skew option
changes the angle of the picture.
Steps for this option (Practical, don’t memorize)
1. Home tab image group select option
2. Click on the resize option in the image group
3. Resize and skew dialog appears.
4. Ensure that the Maintain aspect ratio is ticked
5. In the resize section, Enter a value to resize vertically or
horizontally.
6. In the skew section, Enter a value in the horizontal and
vertical boxes.
7. Click OK. The picture will be both resized and skewed.

View tab is used to view different options of paint.


View tab consists of Zoom group, Show or hide group and
Display group.
Zoom group Allow you to view pictures in different sizes in the
drawing area.
Includes Zoom in & zoom out options.
Show or hide group in the view tab of the paint window
displays the Rulers, Gridlines and status bar.
Ruler: helps you to view the horizontal and vertical
measurement of your picture and to resize it.
Gridlines: helps you to arrange your diagrams and pictures at
appropriate locations in the Drawing area of the Paint window.
Status bar: helps you to keep track of the picture quality and
zoom size of the drawing area.
Display group displays the picture either in full screen or as a
thumbnail.
Full screen: displays the drawing in the full screen mode.
Thumbnail: This allows you to see an enlarged picture in a small
window within a drawing area.

Copy: Ctrl+C
Cut: Ctrl+X
Paste: Ctrl+V
To Rotate or flip: Ctrl+R
To Resize and skew: Ctrl+W
Zoom in: Ctrl+Pgup
Zoom out: Ctrl+Pgdown
MSW LOGO
MSW logo is a simple computer language.
MSW logo window has 2 parts -MSW logo screen and
Commander window.
The turtle has 2 parts. Head and tail
The turtle is the pen of MS logo, used for drawing.
The turtle moves in 4 directions. Forward, Backward, Right and
left.
