Students : good morning miss
Teacher : how are you all?
Students : all good miss
Teacher : ok before going into the discussion of the next material, does anyone want to
ask about last week's material, namely the meaning of editorial text and its
function?
Student : no miss
Teacher : It seems that you understand everything, then I will ask you
Teacher : what do you know about editorial text?
Sinta : I want to answer miss
Teacher : please sinta
Sinta : so the editorial text is a text that contains our own opinion on a problem.
Editorial texts are also different from opinions because editorial texts contain
personal opinions, not those of the author of the text, ma'am
Teacher : good sinta, thank you
Teacher : let's continue the material about this editorial text, namely the characteristics
and structure of the editorial text
Student : ok miss
Teacher : so, the editorial text has the first, actual and factual characteristics. The text
must raise information that is being hotly discussed in society. Don't forget
too, the information still has to put forward the facts that happened. the second
feature, Systematic and logical. The preparation of editorial texts must be
systematic, which means that they must comply with the structure and rules of
the language, yes students. The text must also be logical, meaning that it
makes sense and is not imaginative. The last feature is Argumentative.
Farel : what is the meaning of argumentative, miss
Teacher : This means that this text presents the arguments from the point of view of
Farel's editors
Teacher : well, let's continue with the structure, the structure of the editorial text
consists of 3 parts, namely statements of opinion, arguments, and restatements.
Statement of opinion, namely containing the author's point of view on the
issues raised. In the form of a statement or theory that will be strengthened by
arguments. Furthermore, Argumentation is the form of reasons or evidence
used to strengthen the thesis statement. It can be in the form of general
statements, research data, statements of experts or facts that can be trusted.
lastly Reaffirmation of Opinion, which contains reinforcing the opinion back
which has been supported by the facts in the argumentation section.
Teacher : do you all understand?
Student : yes miss
Teacher : before I end today's lesson, I ask you to make an example of an editorial text
to be collected next week, OK?
Student : okay miss
Teacher : ok, learning is enough until here, don't forget to do the assignments I gave
you, see you next week. thank you and good morning
Student : good morning miss
