SOFTWARE UPDATE MANAGER(SUM).

2. Prerequisites for installing SAP TM 9.5
Uninstalling SAP TM:

Before you install SAPTM/SAPTMUI, note that you cannot uninstall ABAP add-ons!
Required release:
SAP NetWeaver 7.5
You may not install the following components or try to install SAPTM in a system where these components are installed:
BBPCRM, SAP_APPL, SCM, SRM_PLUS. See details in note 1951846 - SAP TM Deployment Options .
Import the latest SPAM/SAINT update:

Make sure that you have installed the latest SPAM/SAINT update on your system. If a later version is available on SAP
Service Marketplace, import the new SPAM/SAINT update (http://service.sap.com/patches).
Import the latest R3trans and tp. Ensure that you have imported the latest kernel version into your system. If a newer
version is available on SAP ServiceMarketplace, import the most recent kernel.
Obtain the following notes before you begin the installation:

3. Preparing to install SAP TM 9.5
Obtain the add-Ons SAPTM 160 and SAPTMUI 160

Download the CD with material number 51052641 or CD51051200 from SAP Service Marketplace:
http://service.sap.com/installations --> Browse our Download Catalog --> SAP Application Components --> SAP
TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT --> SAP TM 9.5
Load the CD on the host of your SAP NetWeaver 750
Log on as user:
<sid>adm for UNIX
<SID>OFR for AS/400
<SID>adm for Windows
Switch to the directory <DIR_EPS_ROOT> of your SAP system(usually /usr/sap/trans/EPS). The directory
<DIR_EPS_ROOT> is also displayed under DIR_EPS_ROOT after you execute the report RSPFPAR.
Go to the higher-level directory of <DIR_EPS_ROOT>.
Unpack the SAR archive K-160AGINSAPTM.SAR present in the subfolder DATA on the CD using the
following statement:
SAPCAR -xvf /<CD_DIR>/DATA_UNITS/SAPTM_160_INST/DATA/K-160AGINSAPTM.SAR on UNIX
SAPCAR '-xvf /QOPT/<VOLID>/DATA_UNITS/SAPTM_160_INST/DATA/K-160AGINSAPTM.SAR' on AS/400
SAPCAR -xvf <CD_DRIVE>:\DATA_UNITS\SAPTM_160_INST\DATA\K-160AGINSAPTM.SAR on Windows
The PAT file for SAPTM 160 I720020751259_0115914.PAT should now be in the directory <DIR_EPS_ROOT>/in.
Use similar commands to Unpack the SAR archive K-160AGINSAPTMUI.SAR. The pat
file:I720020751259_0115800.PAT should now be in the directory <DIR_EPS_ROOT>/in.
The DVD containing the delta upgrade packages of the re-use components has the material number:51050302. It
can be downloaded from the download page for SAP TM 9.5
There is a separate DVD for the Optimizer content. The material number of the DVD is 51052271. It can be
downloaded from the download page for SAP TM 9.5
4. Installing SAP TM 9.5
Installation with transaction: SAINT
If your system does not have the pre-requisite software components(see Chapter 2.) installed; then, you can install
them in the same queue as SAPTM 160/SAPTMUI 160. But, before defining the queue, also kindly refer to the
Installation Notes of the above mentioned components.
User to be used.
Log onto your system in client 000 as a user with SAP_ALL authorization. Do NOT use the SAP* or DDIC users.
Load the add-on installation package.

Call transaction SAINT and choose 'Load'. After the list of uploaded packages is displayed, you can return to the
initial screen of transaction SAINT by choosing either F3 or 'Back'.
Start the installation.

Call transaction SAINT, choose 'Start', highlight the Add-On SAPTM 160/SAPTMUI 160, and choose 'Continue'. If
all of the necessary conditions for importing the add-on have been fulfilled, the system will now display the relevant
queue. The queue consists of the installation package, and it may also contain Support Packages and Add-On
Support Packages. To start the installation process, choose 'Continue'. For more information, call transaction SAINT
and choose 'Info' on the application toolbar.
You may be prompted to enter a password. This password is provided below, in Section: 9
Installation of SAPTM 160/SAPTMUI 160 by including SAPTM 9.5 in a Delta Upgrade with Software Update Manager.
The general procedure for the upgrade can be found in the Upgrade Master guide for SAP Netweaver 7.5 in Service
Market place.
5. Delta Upgrade to SAPTM 160 from a lower release of SAPTM
To know about the supported "Upgrade Paths", kindly refer to the Release Strategy Note: 1678998
The SAR file: K-160AGINSAPTM.SAR is also relevant for a Delta Upgrade to TM 9.5
Required SAP releases and add-on releases:

SAP NETWEAVER 7.5 and SAPTM 160
Add-on Supplement
When you upgrade an SAP release to SAP NETWEAVER 7.5, the system automatically recognizes that an ABAP add-on
is installed and it requests an additional CD or an upgrade package for the add-on. As a result, the ABAP add-on is also
upgraded to the corresponding release during the standard upgrade.
CAUTION:
If you upgrade an SAP system with the add-on: SAPTM to SAP Netweaver 7.5 without importing the data contained on the
upgrade CD with the material number 51051200 (IS_SELECT phase), the ABAP add-on SAPTM no longer works after the
upgrade. Since the status of the system is inconsistent, SAP can no longer accept any liability. So, kindly ensure that any
upgrade/update of your TM system is carried out using a stack.xml which includes SAP TM in the target.
In the initial release of your system, use the latest version of R3trans, tp, Kernel and SPAM.
Importing additional component Support Packages

The add-on SAPTM 160 is a non-modifying add-on. You can import support packages of pre-requisite components that
are higher than the levels mentioned in the import Condition.
If you have downloaded the add-on upgrade package directly from SAP Service Marketplace, unpack it in the directory
<DIR_EPS_ROOT>/in. The file should be in the <DIR_EPS_ROOT>/in directory.
Attention
Before starting the upgrade, make sure that the scheduled batch job for program
/SCMTMS/PROCESS_TRIGGER_BGD runs at least once after all business users have logged off from the system
with the lower release. Alternatively, you can execute the program once manually in the system with the lower
release after all business users have logged off
When using Dangerous Goods, please refer to SAP Note 2550611 - DG Correction Report
(/sap/support/notes/2550611) before starting the upgrade
6. Delta Upgrade to SAPTMUI 160 from a lower release of SAPTMUI.
The procedure is similar to the one described in section 5 above
7. Additional information about Delta Upgrade to SAP TM 9.5
Phase BIND_PATCH:
This displays which Support Packages are located in the <DIR_EPS_ROOT>/in directory and can be included in the
upgrade. Make sure that you include atleast the support packages mentioned in Chapter: 2

Important Correction to XPRA when upgrading to SAP TM 9.5 Support Package 02 or lower
Support Package 00 or 01
It is highly recommended to implement SAP Note 2629000 during the upgrade, after the import of SAPTM
160 has been finished, and before the XPRA phase is started. Without the correction of this SAP Note it can
happen that data of freight and forwarding order management is not correctly converted. This, finally results in
data inconsistency. Check SAP Note 2629000 (/sap/support/notes/2629000) for further details.
The problem does not occur when upgrading to SAP TM 9.5 Support Package 02 or higher.
Support Package 02 or 01 or 00
It is highly recommended to implement SAP Note 2665856 during the upgrade, after the import of SAPTM
160 has been finished, and before the XPRA phase is started. Without the correction of this SAP Note it can
happen, that far too much memory gets allocated during data conversion of XPRA
/SCMTMS/XPRA_150_BLOCKS. This results in exceptions, what interrupts the upgrade, or the application
servers start swapping, what leads to very bad runtime. Check SAP Note 2665856 (/sap/support/notes/2665856)
for further details.
The problem does not occur when upgrading to SAP TM 9.5 Support Package 03 or higher.
8. After you have installed SAPTM 160

/default_host/sap/bc/srt/xip/scmtms (only in case Web Service based communication is required; not required if only
PI based communication is used)
/default_host/sap/bc/ui5_ui5 (Services for Gateway and GANTT-Chart)
/default_host/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/scmtms/gantt_proxy
/default_host/sap/bc/bsp/gntlb
/default_host/sap/bc/bsp/scmtms

Please make sure that the active model is created (IMG-Activity: SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP
Transportation Management -> Transportation Management -> Master Data -> Create Active Version and Model.)
The parameter abap/shared_objects_size_MB should be changed from default value = 20MB to new = 250 MB in
the default profile.
Please check if all WebDynpro Services in the following node are activated (or else activate them): TA SICF
Default host -> sap -> bc -> webdynpro -> scmtms
In order to leverage the full functionality of Visual Business please make sure that all end users have installed
version VB 2.1 on their devices. More information on the installation of Visual Business 2.1 can be found in the
help-portal: http://help.sap.com/visualbusiness21 (http://help.sap.com/visualbusiness21).
Delivery Customizing:
Delivery Customizing is imported into client 000 and may have to be copied to other clients. Please notice that
copying customizing from client 000 into a productive client may result in data loss if you have changed already
existing delivery customizing. In case you need to copy delivery customizing into a productive client please use
transaction SCU0 to copy only required entries selectively (you may reduce the scope of the comparison to
application area Transportation Management and SAP Business Partner which carry most important updates). For
more information, see Note 337623.
Support Packages:
After installation, install the available Support Packages (SPs) for SAPTM 160/SAPTMUI 160 in your system.
Download all available Support Packages from the SAP Software Center at http://service.sap.com/patches and
install them using transaction SPAM. Pay attention to any specific points made in the relevant Support Package
note.
Generation errors:
There are no generation errors as regards to either SAPTM 160 or SAPTMUI 160
Batch Jobs
after the installation is completed several periodic tasks have to be setup. This is required in order to assure a
stable and fully functional operability. Follow the steps described in chapter "4.5 Periodic Tasks" in the Application
Operations Guide for SAP TM 9.5 which can be downloaded from this

Read the referenced notes and especially the latest version of note 2519997 (/sap/support/notes/2519997) SAP TM 9.5-
Collection of SAP Notes recommended to be implemented.
After an upgrade to SAP TM 9.5 SP 01 or lower, it is recommended to implement SAP Note 2654211
(/sap/support/notes/2654211). Without this correction you might face very high database load and bad system
performance.

All language-dependent parts of SAPTM 160/SAPTMUI 160 are contained in the installation package of the add-on. If the
relevant default language is in the system when you import SAPTM 160/SAPTMUI 160, the language part of the add-on is
imported automatically. You do not have to import a language transport separately.
If you import a new standard language into your system after you install SAPTM 160/SAPTMUI 160, you must manually
ensure that the corresponding language-dependent part of the add-on is imported. For more information, see Note
195442.
