KISUMU COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD


VACANCIES – KISUMU COUNTY REVENUE BOARD
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by the Sections 3A (5) of the Kisumu County Revenue
Administration (Amendment) Act, 2022, the County Public Service Board invites applications
for the position of Chairperson and Board Members of the Kisumu County Revenue Board -

a. Chairperson – One (1) position


b. Members – Five (5) positions
1. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BOARD

a) Approve the Board’s Strategic Plan and Budget.


b) Oversight Administration of Revenue collection.
c) Formulate and implement strategies to maximize collections from all revenue streams in
the County.
d) Supervise and monitor performance of staff of the Board;
e) Ensure the Board complies with Laws and Codes.
f) Identify the risk areas and oversee risk management with regard to revenue collection
g) .Establish partnerships towards the goal of revenue maximization;
h) Represent the interest of the County Government of Kisumu.
i) Any other relevant responsibilities that may be assigned.
2. QUALIFICATION FOR APPOINTMENT AS CHAIRPERSON OR MEMBER OF THE BOARD

A person shall be qualified for appointment as a Chairperson or Member of the Board under
Section 5 (a) and (e) of the Act, if that person is-
1. A citizen of Kenya
2. Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University;
3. Has knowledge and qualification in matters relating to Accountancy, Commerce, Law,
Taxation, Business Administration or Public Administration
4. In the case of Chairperson of the Board, hold a Degree in Finance, Management and
Leadership or any other relevant qualification from a University recognized in Kenya and at
least 7 years’ relevant experience in Leadership and Management of public or private
institution.
5. In the case of a Member of the Board, holds at least a Degree from a University recognized
in Kenya and at least 5 years’ relevant experience in Leadership, Management, Finance or any
other relevant qualifications.
6. Demonstrates understanding of Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010).

3. TERMS OF SERVICE
The Chairperson and Member of the Board shall hold office for a period of Three (3) years and
shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further term of Three years.
Chairperson and Members of the Board shall be paid such allowances as determined by the
Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

4. HOW TO APPLY

1. Interested and qualified persons are requested to download application for employment

copies of the certificates.
2. A copy of the National Identity Card or Passport should be appended.
3. All applications should be clearly marked “Application for the position of Chairperson
of the Board, or “ Application for the position of Member of the Board, Kisumu County
Revenue Board” and submitted in any ONE of the following ways-

i. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
ii. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC);
iii. Criminal Investigation Department (CID); and
iv. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
