Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

✘ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to

Lesson idea implementation:

Students should already have a good understanding of the life cycle of an animal. They can choose
any animal they want. This lesson should hopefully expand their knowledge on new ways to present
their knowledge to people that might learn in different ways. It can also help students become more
familiar with technology and learn how to use different tools in the classroom.
Managing student learning: For the first 5 min. I will have students tell me what they already know.
Then I would explain what I expect them to do within this project. 10 min. If students have any
questions let them ask 2 min. Have students brainstorm with they would like to do a podcast or a
video 5min. Then have students start working on their script 10min. Then have students start
recording 15min.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
This tool that I used supports all students. This tool that we are using for the podcast help students
that can’t see hear the content and then for students that can’t hear they can read the script and
understand what is being said in the podcast. This helps students with different types of needs and
supports their learning.
Reflection: After showing the students this lesson, I think they will be able to understand the life
cycle of an animal. This can help the students expand their knowledge on their technology skills
while creating a new way to present the information.
