Zoom Class Rules:

1. Agree to disagree.
2. All forms of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.
3. Always check what’s on Managebac.

4. Be aware of your surroundings. Log into your class or meeting from a distraction-
free, quiet environment.
5. Be punctual. Attendance will be at the start and, before the class ends.
6. Be respectful of others while they are talking. Stay off your phones, tabs, other
devices, and social media - respect your teacher and classmates.
7. Be responsible for your own learning.

8. Close unneeded applications on your computer to optimize the video quality.


9. Contact the teacher immediately if you have tech problems before the class starts.
10. Dress code – uniform.
11. Have normal class supplies within reach before class starts.
12. If you have food or drink, be discreet while eating.

13. If you would like to speak or answer a question, use the “Raise Hand” feature in the
Participant Panel. Unmute yourself after you are called on by your teacher.
14. Join the session without distracting other students even if you’re late.
15. Messages written in the Chat window during a session are saved automatically. Be
mindful of what you write and share.
16. Mute is your friend. Once you log in to the virtual classroom, be sure to mute your
microphone (lower left-hand corner). This will help to eliminate background noise that
could distract others.
17. No screen shots or pictures are to be taken during a Zoom class session without
permission.

18. Sign out or “leave the meeting” when the session is finished.
19. When in breakout rooms for partner or group activities, you are expected to be
respectful of your fellow classmates and to work together to complete the activity.

20. When you are speaking, let others know that you are done by saying - “That’s all,” or
“I’m done,” or “Thank you,” so that everyone knows you have finished.
21. You are expected to have access to Canvas while in the Zoom class sessions for any
documents or materials you may need in order to complete the in-class activities.
22. Your teacher may ask you to leave the Zoom class session due to (your)
misbehaviour or, until all distractions in your environment have been addressed
(Waiting Room).

23. Your video must be on at all times, so your teacher and peers can see you. Do
not leave your camera without permission.
24. Zoom class ID and passcode must be kept confidential!
