Purpose:
To inform users of Centaur (hot end drive) generator sets (GSC and GSE-3000’s) that the replace-
ment bearings for the speed reducer gearbox are keyed to the serial number of the gearbox.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Users of Centaur (hot end drive) generator sets (GSC and GSE-3000’s) are advised that the re-
placement bearings for the speed reducer gearbox are keyed to the serial number of the gearbox. In
the past, the service parts identification record (S.P.I.R.) contained only one listing of replacement
bearings which was only good for the newer gearboxes. The differences are in the placement of the
antirotation pin location, otherwise the bearings are identical and one could redrill the hole for the
antirotation pin and use it with no problem.

ACTION REQUIRED:
When replacement of the gearbox bearings is necessary, ensure that the bearings ordered are keyed
to the gearbox serial number as follows:
