PIONEER
The first section of the P series platinum user guide is titled 'Pioneer.' The patient monitor is
equipped with a few unique features thanks to Biolight's new cutting-edge technologies. The
DM module is what distinguishes the p series as a market-leading patient monitor. This guide
will thoroughly describe the device's key highlight features.
It enables a more precise and controlled drip rate and helps avoid accidents when the drip is
finished by automatically clamping the tube. This also relieves healthcare staff of the need to
constantly monitor the infusion's status, hence lowering workload.
Only Blt has this practical function in the world for now.
2. Voice Assisstant
Handsfree interaction
PART 1
•It assists healthcare workers to command the device to do things just with their voice.
•Reduces risk of cross-contamination as it is easier to maintain aseptic technique.
•Reduces the time to operate the machine. Enabling quick diagnosis and quick treatment.
Voice assistant allows for hands-free control of the patient monitor, reducing the risk of cross-
contamination when touching the screen or buttons. Additionally, it enables speedier control
by eliminating the need to navigate through menus.

PRACTICAL
In part 2, the guide will focus on the ’practical’ of the P series. Biolight P series offers NMT, BIS,
rSO2, RM, EEG, ICG, AG, IBP, CO2, C.O., and other modules. But these high-end modules alone
are not enough to make the monitor stand out in front of the user. Biolight P series not only has
strong hardware but also powerful software. These CAAs (Clinical Assistive Applications) make
full use of these modules, such as analyzing the complex parameters and putting the
healthcare workers the data and information which they are required right at their fingertips.

support to survive. P series has some specific functions that are exclusive to neonate patients.
In part 3, the guide will take a deep look into Biolight neonatal care functions. For neonatal
patient, we offer Suntech NIBP & Masimo SPO2. But other than that Biolight has other three
special functions for the end-user (CCHD, Single SPO2, OxyCRG).
1. CCHD
Critical Congenital Heart Diseases
Every newborn should do the CCHD screening before discharge from the
hospital, as babies with CCHD may cause serious health problems and need
treatment early in life.
2. Single SpO2
More focused view in NICU
The OXYCRG Screen is practical for the neonate. The OxyCRG screen graphically displays high-
resolution trend curves and compressed waveforms of HR, SpO2, and RR.
Oxy-CRG is an indicator of breathing efficiency and brain maturity. It combines the compressed
trends of a neonate’s beat-to-beat heart rate, respiration, and oxygenation levels and presents
them in a straightforward! display on our patient monitors, Oxy-CRG allows for a
comprehensive evaluation of a neonate‘s respiratory status. It can help caregivers to detect
critical conditions, including apneic spells, obstructive apnea, mixed apnea, periodic breathing,
and disturbed breathing.! We offer up to 48 hours OxyCRG and this data helps clinicians
identify possible underlying conditions and determine the appropriate treatment.

the P series can provide the monitoring and analysis for them and help the clinicians for a
better understanding of the patient.
Hemodynamics
NIBP & NIBP Analysis
• diagnosis of pheochromocytoma.
Arterial blood pressure (BP) is one of the most frequently measured parameters in clinical
practice, as many diagnostic and therapeutic decisions are based on this measurement. The
reliability of BP measurements is particularly important in critically ill patients, who often need
frequent or continuous BP monitoring to establish or reassess their treatments.
IBP monitoring (arterial cannulation with continuous pressure transduction and waveform
display) is although is the reference standard for BP monitoring in intensive care unit (ICU)
patients. However, it is expensive, carries an increased risk of complications, and requires more
clinical expertise than noninvasive monitoring. Consequently, noninvasive BP (NIBP)
monitoring systems, are often preferred in the ICU especially in secondary care hospitals.
PART 7
Hemodynamics
Invasive Blood Pressure
Arterial blood pressure is most accurately measured invasively through an arterial line. Invasive
arterial pressure measurement with intravascular cannula involves direct measurement of
arterial pressure by placing a cannula needle in an artery (usually radial, femoral, dorsalis pedis
or brachial).
We let you choose the sensitivity, and is equipped with features that you need, PPV for fluid
response monitoring, wave overlapping for vascular resistance comparisons and CPP that
helps you assess severity of shock.
Clinical Applications
In surgical applications, the blood pressure is continuously and accurately measured, allowing
medical staff to react to changes faster. For example, if anesthesia is given to the patient, the
continuous monitoring can confirm it has not caused an adverse effect to the blood pressure.
During certain operations, maintaining blood pressure in a very narrow range is critical; IBP
creates the capability to monitor and maintain pressures.
IBP also plays a critical role in situations where blood pressure is expected to fluctuate rapidly.
By continuously monitoring the pressure, medical staff can be timelier and more accurate in
their reactions.
When to use:
• Blood pressure must be maintained in very narrow range for a period of time
Hemodynamics
PAWP (Pulmonary arterial wedge pressure)
PAWP (PWP/PCWP/PAOP)
Application:
This provides an indirect estimate of left atrial
pressure. Gold standard for determining the cause of
acute pulmonary edema.
Normal range:
6–12 mm Hg
Interpretation:
Increase in this pressure is indicative of acute
pulmonary edema PAWP >20mmHg
It’s a special window that allows you to take an accurate PAWP reading and once the reading is
taken, it allows you to safely deflate the balloon without affecting the reading. PAWP has to be
done for short period to avoid complications such as pulmonary hemorrhage or infarction.
It also allows you to correlate respiratory waveforms as well as ECG waveforms with the PAWP
waveforms.
Hemodynamics
IBP Lables
Apart from the PAWP, P series provide 14 IBP lables to measure the blood pressure.
PPV is the pulse pressure variation. When measuring arterial pressure (excluding PA), you can
turn on PPV measurements, following these steps:
1. Select the IBP parameter area or waveform area to enter the corresponding pressure menu.
2. Select【PPV】submenu.
3. Set【PPV Measurement】to 【ON】.
When 【PPV Measurement】is setting to 【ON】, the source of the PPV can be selected.
