ALLAH IN HIMSELF IN Quran passages


Allah’s Essence is beyond human perception and capacity of knowledge that’s why His are mentioned in
the Quran to introduce Allah in Quranic passages. Following attributes should be discusses as they are
mentioned in any of the given passage:

 The Originator and Creator

“To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth” [6:101].

“He created all things…” [6: 102]

“There is no god but He, the Creator of all things.” [6: 102]

“Adore not the sun and the moon, but adore Allah, who created them, if it is Him you wish to
serve.” [41:37]

 The Omnipotent

“He has power to dispose of all affairs.” [6: 102]

“His grasp is over all vision….” [6:103]

“….who is there that could intercede with Him except by His Own permission.” [2:225]

“His kingdom extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding them
both, and He is the most High and the most Great.”[2:255]

“Truly, He who gives life to the earth can surely give life to those who are dead, for He has
power over all things.” [41:39]

 The Omniscient

“He has full knowledge of all things….” [6: 102]

“His grasp is over all vision….” [6:103]

“He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things.” [6:103]

“He knows all what is in front of them and also what is hidden from them and they cannot
comprehend anything of His knowledge except what He wills.” [2:225]

 The Omnipresent

“His kingdom extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding them
both, and He is the most High and the most Great.” [2:255

 The Eternal

“Allah, the eternal, absolute.” [112:2]

“Allah! There is no deity but He, the Ever living….” [2:225]

 The Absolute, The Self-Subsisting

“Allah, the eternal, absolute; He does not beget, nor is He begotten.” [112: 2-3]

“Neither over takes Him slumber nor sleep.” [2:225]

“He feels no fatigue in guarding them both.” [2:225]

 The One and Only, The Unique

“Allah! There is no deity but He…..” [2:225]

“How can He have a son when he has no consort?” [6: 101]

“There is no god but He….” [6:102]

“Say: He is Allah, the one and only.” [112: 1]

“There is none like Him.” [112:4]

 The Lord and Master, The Owner

“That is Allah, Your Lord! There is no god but He.” [6:102]

“To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: and He is most high, most great.” [42: 4]

“To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth.” [2:225]

“….who is there that could intercede with Him except by His Own permission.” [2:225]

 The Sustainer

“The heavens are almost rent asunder from above them…” [42: 5]

“Allah! There is no deity but He, the Ever living, the One Who sustains.” [2:225]

 The Provider, The Cherisher

“And among His signs is this: you see the earth barren and desolate, but when We send down
rain to it, it is stirred to life and yields increase. Truly, He who gives life to the earth can surely
give life to those who are dead, for He has power over all things.” [41:39]

“Who has made the earth your couch, and the heavens your canopy; and sent down rain from
the heavens; and by it brought forth fruits for your sustenance; then do not set up rivals to
Allah, when you know.” [2:22]

 The Guide and Teacher

“He who taught by the pen, Taught man what he did not know.” [96:4-5]

 The Protector

“The One Who sustains and protects all.” [2:225]

 The Helper

“You alone do we worship, and You alone do we turn for help. Direct us on to the Straight Way.”
[Surah Fatiha]
 The Merciful

“Behold! Verily Allah is He, the oft-forgiving, the most merciful.” [42:5]

 The Forgiving

“Behold! Verily Allah is He, the oft-forgiving, the most merciful.” [42:5]

 The Only worthy of worship

“…….That is Allah, Your Lord! There is no god but He, the Creator of all things: then worship
Him.” [6: 102]

“Adore not the sun and the moon, but adore Allah, who created them, if it is Him you wish to
serve.” [41:37]

“…….the angels celebrate the praises of their Lord.” [42:5]

 The Sublime Nature of God

“….No vision can grasp Him……” [6: 103]

“….He is above all comprehension….” [6: 103]

 Creation is a sign of Allah’s existence

“Among His sings are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon.” [41:37]
