Objectives:
gain new words and phrases on the topic 'Halloween';
use the gained vocabulary in practice;
get factual information from the YouTube video;
speak about Halloween using gained vocabulary and information.
Warm up:
Ask student to take a look at the first slide and share their associations? (If in group: Group
work)
Vocabulary eliciting:
Show students the slide with vocabulary and ask them to work individually to refresh the
vocabulary they might have learnt before. There might be new words, ask students to skip
them if they are not sure about the meaning.
Check the vocabulary together. (If in group: work in pairs and check the vocabulary
together).
Show the next slide with correct answers. Ask students to compare their answers.
Clarify the language and pronunciation if needed.

Alternatively: You can use 'Find the objects' slide. It works well with memorising the words
and bringing the 'fun factor' into the classroom.
Pre-watching
Elicit what words students might know. First show and pronounce the phrase. Ask what
students think it might mean and then show the next slide with a picture and explanation.
Give students time to read the questions. Instruct them to answer if the sentences are true
or falls according to the video. Video can be found here:

Post-watching
Check their answers (If in group: in pairs). Then show the correct answers so that the
students can compare and check.

Give students time to look through open questions and ask them to discuss (if in group: in
pairs. After pair discussion ask one from the pair to report received information (feedback
on the content)).
Encourage students to use Grammar (from the right side of the slide.)
Feedback on language
Collect a few common mistakes which were made during the class and point out on the
slide.
