‘TO. WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Dear Sir/Madam.
: GEORGE LAM HOULE
The subject above refers.
I write to introduce to you, Mr George Liam Houle, who worked as a volunteer teacher at the school
mentioned above. He taught English language in three grades; namely 5, 6 and 8.
Mr Liam arrived at Gonhwe Primary School in Zambia, the country located in Southern Africa, on
November 11, 2019. He was attached to a host family all his stay until his departure for USA due to
COVID 19 pandemic which engulfed the whole country Zambia on March 22, 2020.
He worked and interacted very well with the school staff, the students as well as the community
members. The learning of African, especially Zambian culture and local language (Chitonga) was
smooth and encouraging. How | wish he could have stayed a litle longer.
He had a unique attitude towards work in that; he was very punctual, prepared his lessons
adequately, had great love for his students, attended all professional meetings and took part in out-
door activities. He was such a wonderful teacher.
Gonhwe school administration, the Parents Teachers’ Association (PTA), the school community,
District Education Board Secretary (DEBS), the Provincial Education Officer (PEO) and indeed the
whole Ministry of General Education in the country Zambia lost an opportunity to change the
attitude of students towards learning of proper English.
| wish you, Mr Liam, good luck wherever you will go and whoever will be of help to you.
Yours Faithfully,
one
