The Problem with Artificial Intelligence? It’s Neither Artificial nor Intelligent: A

Summary

In the article "The problem with artificial intelligence? It's neither artificial nor

intelligent" published by The Guardian on March 30, 2023, the author Evgeny Morozov,

converses about the curb and misnomers linked with the term artificial intelligence. First,

the outdated and ambivalent use of the phrase "artificial intelligence" leads to

misunderstandings; the author explains that modern AI sources come from expert humans

or professional people such as artists, writers, researchers, inventors, and much which

intends to harness the preservation of the society. He is also confident that AIs are

authentic and not artificial just like the speculations. Second, he claims that true

intelligence demands the potentiality to pull out generalization and holds by human

sensation which cannot be done by AI such as ChatGPT; moreover, equipment like

ChatGPT is reliable because it was a collection of real existing human knowledge

associated with their real emotions and feelings. In addition, the purpose of modern AI like

ChatGPT is to make human intelligence available and accessible when needed. Lastly, he

alerts the continued use of the term “artificial intelligence” because it fosters the thought

that the world works alone on, a logical basis, which is a misapprehension. Furthermore,

Morozov discourages engrossing in auditing AI algorithms during a suggested "AI

summer;” instead, the community should invest in enhancing human intelligence and

artistry because it enhances more the proficiency and extensiveness of AI systems which is

undeniably helpful.
