JH Step-0

1.Circle members must know the function of the equipment in their circle.
2.Circle members must know the safety related to equipment and personal.
3.Circle members must know what is forced deterioration and its impact.
4.Circle members must know about fuguai and its types.
5.Training manual containing all the above must be available with the circle.
6.Training to be imparted to the members of the circle and supportive documents.

7.Circle must have been audited by Self & Departmental Head before Top Management audit with
supportive document.
JH Step-1
1.Initial cleaning of the equipment must be done thoroughly and time taken for initial cleaning must be
recorded.
2.Tagging of abnormalities (fuguai) and its removal.
3.Equipment must be free from dirt , dust, oil, grease, etc.
4.Equipment shall be free from looseness, vibration, chattering, excessive heat, etc.
5.Inspection standard and check sheet have been made and followed
6.Mapping and Listing of source of contamination and hard to access areas.
7.All supportive documents for the above (Updated fuguai register, kazien details, inspection standard,
check sheets, after before photographs, decrease in CLITA time(inspection time), decrease in down
time, improvement in equipment availability, etc.).
8.Circle must have been audited by Self & Departmental Head before Top Management audit with
supportive document.
JH Step-2
1.Eliminate the source of contamination and hard to access areas by doing kaizens.
2.Improvements in inspection.
3.Reduction in CLITA time(Inspection time).
4.All the above must have supportive documents such as kizen summary sheet, kaizen sheet, after before
photographs, etc.
5.Circle must have been audited by Self & Departmental Head before Top Management audit with
supportive document.
JH Step-3
1.Review the inspection standard prepared in step-1 and prepare the new tentative standard.
2.Review the inspection route map prepared in the step-1.
3.Do kaizens to reduce the inspection time.
4.Develop visual controls to reduce the inspection time.
5.Improvement in MTTR and MTBF.
6.Improvement in the availability of the equipment in the circle.
7.Remember: Inspection time per equipment per man must be less than or equal to 10 minutes after
stopping.
8.Each and every member of the circle shall follow the same Inspection procedure and route while
inspecting a particular equipment.
9.Circle must have been audited by Self & Departmental Head before Top Management audit with
supportive document
