PRACTICE SCHOOL WORKSHOP ENTITLED -SENSITIZATION AND

IMPLEMENTATION OF “PRACTICE SCHOOL” AS PER NEW SCHEME AND


SYLLABUS IN UG CURRICULUM OF PHARMACY

REPORT

We express our sincere gratitude to Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi for providing financial support
to conduct this Practice School workshop entitled -Sensitization and Implementation of “Practice School” as
per new Scheme and Syllabus in UG Curriculum of Pharmacy.
We also seek to express gratitude to respected Prof. B. Suresh Hon’ble President, Pharmacy Council of
India, Dr. Shailendra Saraf, Hon’ble Vice- President, Pharmacy Council of India and all respective members
of Pharmacy Council of India for their kind support.
Workshop was organized on October 5th, 2019 at School of Pharmacy and Research, People’s University,
Bhopal (M.P.).
Following are the invited speakers for lectures in one day workshop: -

3. Mr.Tarani Prakash Shrivastava
Designation :- Pharmacovigilance Associate
Affiliation :- National Coordination centre, Pharmacovigilance Program of India, IPC Ghaziabad
4. Dr, Praveen N. Sable
Designation:- Principal.
Affiliation :- S.S.P. Shikshan Sanstha’s, Siddhi College of Pharmacy, Pune.
On the day of workshop the inaugural session started at 10:30 am and the chief guest was Hon’ble Dr.
Mordhwaj Singh Parihar (Chairman, MPPURC, Bhopal) the occasion was also graced by the presence of
Dr. Rajesh Kapur, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, People’s University, Dr.V.K. Pandya, Director Academics,
People’s University, Dr. Neerja Mallick, Registrar, People’s University. After the lamp lightening
ceremony, the respected guests and dignitaries were welcome with saplings. Programme started by welcome
note by Dr. Neeraj Upmanyu, Principal and Convener School of Pharmacy and Research, People’s
University. Welcome address was followed by the speech of Vice-Chancellor, People’s University and the
Chief Guest respectively. The inaugural session was concluded with felicitation of Hon’ble Chief Guest by
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, People’s University. Participants not only from Madhya Pradesh (M.P.) but
across Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) of the country registered and attended the workshop.
The Scientific Session- I was started with the lecture of Dr. GowthamranjanKuppusamy on the topic
“Effective Implementation of Practice School”. The second lecture of Scientific Session- I was delivered
by Mr. Tarani Prakash Shrivastav (Pharmacovigilance Associate) on the topic -“Implementing Practice
School in UG Pharmacy curriculum:- Perspectives in Pharmacology”. The speakers were felicitated with
memento after their lecture respectively. Post lunch session i.e. Scientific Session II the third lecture of the
day was delivered by Dr.V.Gopal on the topic “Updating of Technical subject Expertise in Pharmacognosy
Practice School”. Due to some unavoidable circumstances Dr. Praveen Sable was unable to deliver his
lecture on specified date (annexure attached) due to which only three lecture sessions were conducted.
After the felicitation of Dr. V. Gopal the brain Storming interactive Session was organized for the
participants in which they freely asked several queries regarding the Practice School & its implementation
in their respective institutes. In the panel discussion all the participants enthusiastically took part and their
queries were answered by the experts along with the convener followed by a tea break. The valedictory
session was started after that with certificate distribution and the program was concluded successfully with
a vote of thanks by organizing secretaries Alka Singh & Eisha Ganju.
