Made from a unique ultra high molecular weight polyethylene

material, synthetic capstan rope is an extremely strong, low tensile rope

(less than 5%) with high wear resistance and high tensile strength, 30%

stronger than steel capstan rope of the same size, 85% lighter than steel

capstan rope of the same size, which can float on water. It can be used for

all winches from 2500 LBS to 20,000 LBS. Each synthetic capstan rope is

coated with UV-resistant polyurethane to protect the fiber from sunlight.

Synthetic capstan lines resist damage from most oils and chemicals and

do not corrode like steel cables. UHMW-PE ropes do not burr or break

like cables, are easy to repair or splice, and are easier to handle and wind

on the capstan.
