SCOPE: This packaging material specification describes the Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) general use requirements for quality and
legibility of part nomenclature printing and label placement on unit packages and masterpacks. Instructions have been modified with
introduction of bar codes (3 of 9 or UPC), revised label graphics and carton graphics. Ford brand unit packaging requires a 3 of 9 bar code
(reference L1569 FCSD Package Material Specification and bar code sizing table on pages 11 and 12). It is preferred that the 3 of 9 bar code
be centered left to right on label as illustrated on page 3. Motorcraft brand unit packaging requires a UPC symbol (reference L1522 FCSD
Package Material Specification).

A section of this “PRINT” specification is the Motorcraft ML2000 Series trilingual label (reference FCSD Package Material Specification
ML2000) specified exclusively for program supplier dealer and Ford Authorized Distributor (FAD) direct ship product lines, as directed by the
Marketing and Procurement activities. Refer to pages 19 - 21. Normal depot stocked parts require the standard Ford and Motorcraft 47, 1190,
1192, 1193, 1194 Label Series Identification (reference FCSD Package Material Specification F-MFLSER) refer to pages 15 - 18.

IMPRINTING: Refer to the Imprint Size Font Table on pages 8 - 10 for the required sizes of all the different data elements of the part nomenclature,
which must be printed in black ink. All fonts are ARIAL NARROW except SALES PART NUMBER and SERVICE PART NUMBER and the word
MASTERPACK are ARIAL NARROW BOLD. SERVICE PART NUMBER must include dashes separating the part number PREFIX-BASE-SUFFIX. The part
name displayed on the unit container's part nomenclature label must exactly match the part name shown on the Part's Packaging
Specification. Packaging Specitfication Change Request Forms must be submitted for any part name changes. Part names are
not displayed on Tape Identified Part Labels (L26/ML26) or on Masterpack Labels or on Sell Pack Labels. The Imprint Size Font Table has
been designed to fully utilize the available print area on each label, and it is the responsibility of the service parts packager to adhere to this
table without variation. Font sizes referred to on pages 10 -12 are based on 72 points per inch.

Plain packaging materials (corrugated cartons or PB Series poly bags) require the application of graphic part nomenclature labels. Refer
to the FCSD Standard Carton Listing in the FCSD Packaging Information web site (http://web.pkginfo.ford.com) for faster label selection.
Graphic printed decorative folding cartons (F-MFSER), and EA/MEA Series poly bags (F-MFPOLY) can display the part nomenclature
either by direct imprint (preferred) or by application of a plain white label (L1 - L11 series) contained in the F-MFLSER Package
Material Specification. It is the responsibility of the packager to assure the labels are legible, applied to the package uniformly and squarely,
adhere firmly to the package material and bar codes scan at acceptable levels. Tape identified parts, which require the L26/ML26 label
(reference L26/ML26 FCSD Package Material Specification) do not require the quantity or part name in the nomenclature refer to pages 69 - 70.

Masterpack Part Nomenclature Label
MASTERPACK: Ford branded parts require a Ford graphic Masterpack label. Motorcraft branded parts require a Motorcraft graphic Masterpack label. The
masterpack label is to be centered on the master carton’s smallest panel parallel to the carton width, space permitting, otherwise
parallel to the manufacturer’s joint. Print the word “MASTERPACK” in ARIAL NARROW BOLD on the top line. For ML1190 and ML1194 print
the word Masterpack on two lines as shown on page 6. For font sizing see Imprint Size Font Table on page 8. Refer to pages 11 - 12 for
bar code sizing. All Masterpack bar codes are to be Code 39 and scan the service part number. Refer to Package Material Specification
L1569 for details. Refer to page 5 - 6 for Ford and Motorcraft Masterpack label examples. Use the largest standard Ford or Motorcraft
label to fit the Masterpack’s smallest panel. Note: Part names are never displayed on Masterpack labels.

Sell Pack Part Nomenclature Label
SELL PACK : FCSD Marketing selects certain commodities to be released in a pre-defined “sell order quantity,” eg. spark plugs and wiper blades, which
force Customers to order in multiples of this quantity. In order to facilitate stockkeeping and picking in the PDC’s, print the word “SELL PACK”
instead of “MASTERPACK” in ARIAL NARROW BOLD on the top line of the container label. For font sizing, follow the imprint size font table used for
MASTERPACK labels on page 10.
