According to Chelsea Chronicle, Felix now wants to

terminate his contract with the Rojiblancos, weeks
after returning to the La Liga club from his loan spell
with Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid, however, has responded to the 23-

year-old forward, claiming he will need to buy out
his contract if he is desperate to leave the club this
summer after describing his termination request as
a joke.

Atletico Madrid has taken the alleged

‘threat’ of João Félix terminating his
contract as a joke.

If he was to do so, he would have to

pay his own €350m release clause.

Felix, who is wanted by Barcelona, has a running

contract with Atletico Madrid that is set to run until
2027 with his release clause set at a whopping
€350 million.

Atletico kick against Barcelona move

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid does not want Joao

Felix to join Barcelona this summer as the club’s
CEO, Miguel Angel Gil Marin will not allow the move
to happen, which has caused tensions to rise,
Football Espana reports.

Gil Marin's reasoning is that he does not want to

strengthen a direct opponent, as Atletico Madrid
will almost certainly compete with Barcelona for the
La Liga crown this season.

Atletico Madrid supporters have turned against Felix

after the Portuguese forward revealed a desire to
join rivals Barcelona, resulting in his plaque outside
the Wanda Metropolitano being vandalised.

Felix makes fascinating Barcelona

confession

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that amidst the

uncertainty surrounding his future at Atletico
Madrid, Joao Felix has made a significant revelation
about his admiration for Barcelona.

After his loan spell with Chelsea, Felix's situation

with Atleti remains uncertain, and he has now
openly shared his childhood aspirations of playing
for the Catalan club.

The Portuguese international is determined to leave

the Rojiblancos, particularly so if Diego Simeone
continues as the coach, as their relationship has
deteriorated, leading to his temporary move to the
Premier League in January.

Real Madrid have been grappling with a string of

injuries as they approach the upcoming season. The
team's medical staff has been under constant
pressure, dealing with numerous injuries during
both the preseason and the regular season.

The team recently suffered a double blow with

significant consequences. Within a short span of
time, both Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao
sustained severe knee ligament injuries

While Real Madrid may have found a replacement

for the former in Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga, the
quest for a replacement for Militao continues. In
this article, Sports Brief examines five potential
options that Los Blancos could consider in their
search for a suitable successor for the Brazilian
defender.

Aymeric Laporte

The Spanish international could come in handy for

Real Madrid given his wealth of experience at
Athletic Club and him being obviously surplus to
requirements at Manchester City.

Laporte found playing hard to come by last season

with the defender per reports from infogol starting
only 22 of Manchester City’s entire fixtures. With
the arrival of Josko Gvardiol, these numbers are
expected to dwindle and a move to the Bernabeu
may just be the perfect way out for the defender.
However,it should be noted that the 29-year-old
defender is left-footed just like David Alaba and
Nacho Fernandez.

Benjamin Pavard

According to reports from Goal, the versatile World

Cup winner has not held back his desire to leave the
Allianz Arena, despite being an integral part of the
squad being built by Coach Thomas Tuchel.

Pavard, who remains linked with Manchester

United, could reconsider his options given the void
created by the injury to Militao in any case Real
Madrid comes knocking.

Antonio Silva

Definitely one for the future, the 19-year-old

Portuguese international has grown to become a
mainstay in the heart of the Benfica defence.

The Rolls Royce teenage defender will without a

doubt cost Real Madrid a fortune, however, judging
by the club’s recent trend of signing youngsters, one
cannot pass over the chance of Los Blancos signing
the defender.

Thiago Silva

Though the Brazilian is visibly settled at Chelsea,

only a few have the ability to resist a call from Real
Madrid. The 39-year-old centre-back could be
presented with an opportunity to play for the
biggest club in the world at the tail end of his career,
a chance which he may not pass up.

Irrespective of his age, we are sure the Blues are

unlikely to part ways with such an invaluable leader
and stellar performer.

Sergio Ramos

The former Real Madrid captain remains without a

club after opting to extend his stay at Paris Saint
Germain.

Ramos has been linked with moves to the MLS and

Saudi Pro League, however, reports have stated the
37-year-old defender would fancy a return to Real
Madrid.

Real Madrid signs Chelsea's Kepa

Sports Brief earlier reported Real Madrid have

completed the signing of Chelsea’s goalkeeper Kepa
Arrizabalaga.

The 28-year-old signs for Los Blancos on a one-year

loan deal without an obligation to buy. Kepa would
have to battle things out for the number 1 shirt at
Real Madrid with Andriy Lunin.
