Learning Targets
✓ I can read the sight words “to” and
“do”.
✓ I can write the letters Bb/Oo/Ww and
tell you their sounds.
✓ I can practice reading CVC words. This
week we learned about the “ig” word
family plus matched rhyming CVC
words!
✓ I can write a narrative story! We
completed page three of our personal
narrative (modeled writing). Those will
be coming home soon!
✓ I can teach you a weather song! Ask
me to sing our new literacy module
weather song!
✓ I can tell you the four components that
make up the weather: temperature, air
pressure, moisture, and wind.
✓ I can make a “talking” meteorologist!
✓ I can add two dice together! We
practiced identifying the larger number
and “grabbing that number” and then
adding on! Our Hocus Pocus math was
fun!
✓ I can complete my Topic 4 math test!
Those are in blue folders. Remember
to go to the very back, red pages, for
scoring.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Next week we’ll be learning to write Ee/Jj/Zz, and now
I know my ABC’s! We have now learned how to write the
alphabet! We will continue daily with reminders of correct
letter formation and small, tall, and fall letters! Our new sight
words will be “we”, “look”. We’ll be continuing in our literacy
unit on weather and doing a fun science experiment with
clouds and rain!
In writing we will practice writing “jazzy sentences”
which means we include a who, what, where, and when in our
writing! We’ll also learn how to draw an elephant and write
facts we learn. These will go in our writing folders that stay at
school!
In math we will begin Topic 5 and learn about counting
and classifying data, including learning about tally marks.
We’ll have fun learning about how native tribes wrote
with pictures, their transportation, and how the pilgrims lived.
