Observation

FIRE: Fire is the rapid oxidation of a material in the

exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing
heat, light, and various reaction products.

OXYGEN: Oxygen is the chemical element with the symbol

O and atomic number 8. It is a member of the chalcogen
group in the periodic table, a highly reactive nonmetal, and
an oxidizing agent that readily forms oxides with most
elements as well as with other compounds.

Co2: Carbon dioxide (chemical formula CO2) is a chemical

compound made up of molecules that each have one
carbon atom covalently double bonded to two oxygen
atoms. It is found in the gaseous state at room
temperature. In the air, carbon dioxide is transparent to
visible light but absorbs infrared radiation, acting as a
greenhouse gas.

Questions

1 Can the fire be reborn with the smoke if it is already

extinguished?
2 Can the carbon dioxide extinguished the fire?
3 What does the candle do to turn the spiral?
Research

The fire triangle or combustion triangle is a simple

model for understanding the necessary ingredients for
most fires. The triangle illustrates the three elements
a fire needs to ignite: heat, fuel, and an oxidizing
agent (usually oxygen). A fire naturally occurs when
the elements are present and combined on the right.
Hypothesis

1. Fire extinguisher : The fire can be reborn the oxygen.

2. Fire with smoke : The fire can be extinguish with the
carbon dioxide.
3. Spiral Spin : The Spiral can spin with the oxygen.

Experiments
1 FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Vinegrad mixed with baking soda causes a quick chemical
reaction that creates carbon dioxide (CO2) that displaces
O2 and suppress
2 FIRE WITH SMOKE
When you blow the candle out, vaporized wax briefly
remains in the air. If you apply a heat source quickly
enough, you can ignite the wax and use that reaction to
relight the wick of the candle.
3 SPIRAL SPIN
The air around the flame heats up. Since hot air is lighter
than cold air, it rises and pushes on the spiral, causing it to
spin.

Results
When mixing vinegar with bicarb, Co2 was formed, which,
being heavier than O2, displaced it and extinguished the
flame
By placing aluminum foil and preventing the passage of O2,
the flame went out but with another source of fire it can
quickly be re-ignited
Placing candles under the paper spirals, their flames cause
movement thanks to the energy transmitted by the fire

Conclution
Our hypothesis was ok
