What is Fourth Industrial Revolution Technology in Relation to Socio-economic Impacts in the

Maritime Industry?
The technology of the fourth industrial revolution changed a lot about how we lived, worked,
and communicated with other people. Technology advancements from the first, second, and third
industrial revolutions have made it possible for this to be a new phase in human development. These
innovations bring together the physical, digital, and biological worlds, which significantly impact people's
lives. We had to reevaluate how countries developed, how organizations created value, and even what it
means to be human because of this revolution's rapid expansion, breadth, and depth. It is more than
just technological changes; it is also an opportunity to assist everyone in harnessing convergent
technologies to create a future that is inclusive and centered on people, especially in the maritime
industry.

It is just right to boost the shipping industry's competitiveness, safety, and security was given
that maritime transport is a significant driver of economic growth. In this regard, a technology from the
fourth industrial revolution is extremely helpful. Ship Automation Specialists, who can optimize the ship
design while also reducing component life-cycle costs and increasing levels of system reliability and
safety, can also work on the new technology, even though it is said to quickly replace humans with
machines. The Cyber Security Specialist is another position that fits in with the scale. This position is very
important right now because the cyber security crisis is worse than ever. Shipping companies must hire
people who will design, test, implement, and monitor security measures for their systems to prevent
cyberattacks. Due to the rapid expansion of the 3D printing market, a 3D Printing Technician is also
included. The WAAMpeller, the first ship propeller printed in 3D, is one example of a project that has
demonstrated the potential of using 3D printing to produce vessel components. Another is Energy
Efficiency Optimization Specialist due to the environmental framework created by a series of regulations
that necessitates ongoing efforts and actions. Lastly, there is the Data Protection Specialist. Personal
data protection requirements are among the most recent shipping industry developments. Additional
low-based notices to protect employees' rights have been at the forefront of compliance. Additionally, it
is crucial for web systems, data, and information security. Companies became more productive, more
competitive, and more likely to hire more high-skilled workers for better jobs as new opportunities were
created by this revolution, particularly in the maritime industry, which is critical to socio-economic
growth.

In conclusion, the technology of the fourth industrial revolution is a combination of artificial

intelligence, robotics, the internet of things, 3D printing, genetic engineering, and quantum computing.
Despite the way that a few businesses are bound to be computerized than others as robots, similar to
human representatives who have a specific explicit range of abilities, numerous potential open doors
are made for middle-class laborers, especially in the sea business. And that the real chance is to look
beyond technology and find ways to give as many people as possible a chance to positively impact their
families, organizations, and communities, which will impact a nation's socioeconomic status in the
maritime industry.
