The honorable of the teachers

All of my friends
And all of the audiences

Thank for the chance given to me to speech in front of you.

Let us thank for the God who gives us the healthy, time and air for us so we can we
gather in this place in the occasion.
The noble of our Majesty Muhammad Saw who is waited his miracle in the future.

I would also like to thank the host for giving me the opportunity, I, Ines Juniawati from
SMP Ma'arif NU Al Ikhlas Al Muhdlor, will deliver a short speech about Heroes.

78 years ago, on November 10 1945, there was a major post-independence battle

known as the Battle of Surabaya. Colonizers from Englandthreaten would attack the
city of Surabaya from land, sea and air if the Indonesian people did not obey British
orders. They also issued instructions stating that all Indonesian leaders and youth in
Surabaya must arrive no later than November 10 1945, at 06.00 am at the designated
place. However, the people of Surabaya did not obey this ultimatum, so the terrible
Surabaya battle took place on November 10 1945, which lasted approximately three
weeks.
The Surabaya battlefield later received the nickname "hell" because the losses caused
were not small. The fighting resulted in around 20,000 Surabaya people becoming
victims, most of whom were civilians. Apart from that, it is estimated that 150,000
people were forced to leave the city of Surabaya and it was recorded that around 1600
British soldiers were killed, missing and injured and dozens of war equipment were
damaged and destroyed.

The struggles of the heroes before independence and even after independence, they are
still fighting for the red and white to fly proudly in the skies of Indonesia. Without caring
about property or even life.
The enthusiasm of Surabaya's youth was ignited by Bung Tomo's speech, Merdeka or
death! Even death is no longer feared.

Now, the story is different again. War almost no longer exists, what exists is that we
fight against ourselves.
Without ignoring the struggles of national heroes during the independence period, there
are actually many heroes near us today. They are heroes who are willing to serve,
sacrifice their time and energy to maintain national peace, national security, and
educate the nation's future generations.
These heroes can be teachers, farmers, doctors, and athletes who continue to strive to
raise the Red and White flag in other countries.

Then, can those of us who are present here also be heroes? Of course you can,
especially in imitating the values and drawing inspiration from the nation's heroes.

As a student, for example, we can try to become heroes by studying hard and continuing
to work.

Friends in arms that I am proud of,

Today, we need to be alert and obliged to always be humble because being a hero and
claiming to be a hero are similar words, but have different meanings.

True heroes are those who are truly willing, sincere and willing to serve and sacrifice for
themselves, their people, their country and their nation. So, the title of hero is not
recognized but given by someone else.

That is why, as the next generation of the nation, we should not be quick to be satisfied
with the persistence of sacrifice, high performance, or much sweat of devotion because
today's heroes are those who never give up in their efforts, do not fly when praised, and
do not fall when insulted and scolded

Happy fathers, mothers and friends,

I hope that's the short speech I can deliver. Hopefully this is useful, especially for
myself. Sorry for all mistakes

I end with wassalamualaikum wr.wb
