The Siemens S7 1200/1500 Level 1 TIA Portal training course aims to introduce
Technicians, Electricians, and Maintenance Engineers with little or no experience in
S7 1200/1500 systems to the various elements related to the operation and
maintenance of Siemens S7 controllers and the Siemens TIA Portal programming
software.
Overview
The Siemens S7 1200/1500 Level 1TIA Portal training course has been designed to familiarize
Electricians, Technicians and Maintenance Engineers with little or no experience of S7 1200/1500
systems to the different aspects associated with the operation and maintenance of Siemens S7
controllers and the Siemens TIA Portal programming software. Where possible, application specific
exercises, actual drawings and plant programs will be used to allow the participants to gain the
greatest possible benefit from the course.
Objectives
To introduce students to the concepts and operation of Siemens S7 1200/1500
Controllers.
To be able to understand the structure of the PLC project in TIA Portal and to have the
confidence to implement minor changes to the program.
To be able to use TIA Portal programming software to connect online to monitor and be
able to use the search and cross reference facilities to chase through the Siemens S7
1200/1500 program to determine problems on plant.
To be able to locate and replace faulty modules by understanding and using the system
diagnostics available in TIA when an error is present.
To be able to restore a program back into the controller from a backup copy
Content
The hardware architecture of the Siemens S7 1200/1500 range of controllers.
Understanding Siemens S7 1200/1500 I/O modules, their plant wiring and LED indicators.
Downloading individual blocks and full programs to the Siemens S7 1200/1500 controllers.
Online monitoring and the cross-reference search facility within TIA Portal.
An overview of the programming methods (LAD, FBD and STL) used on plant programs.
Binary, Decimal and Hex numbering systems and their use in an S7 program.
Creating and using TIA 1200/1500 Data Blocks (DB’s) in the program.
Understanding and using the TIA Diagnostic Buffer information for fault finding.
Venue
The online sessions are typically delivered through Microsoft Teams whereas the classroom
sessions take place at IMTC’s state of the art facility which is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur:

2. Clients who register more than one participant to attend the same program session will enjoy
discounts up to 25% depending on the number of participants enrolled.
2. As IMTC will have committed time, money and administrative resources to confirm the program
and allocate seats, a cancellation fee amounting up to 75% of the invoice amount will be
applied if a confirmed registration is cancelled thirty to fifteen calendar days prior to the
program commencement date. There will be no refund in case the registration is cancelled less
than fifteen calendar days prior to the program commencement date or in case the participant
is a no-show.
Exclusion of Liability
1. In view of any circumstances beyond the control of IMTC when a program cannot be conducted
-such as in situations where a natural disaster has occurred in or near the training venue- IMTC
shall not be liable for non-delivery. In such instances, IMTC will use reasonable endeavors to
ensure that the program will be delivered.
2. IMTC reserves the right to make alternative arrangements to a program. However, every effort
will be made to inform the Client of the changes within a reasonable notice time.

A tax invoice will be emailed to you upon receiving your registration form. Advance payment is required to confirm your
registration.
As IMTC will have committed time, money and administrative resources to confirm the course and allocate seats, a
cancellation fee amounting up to 75% of the invoice amount will be applied if a confirmed registration is cancelled 30 to
15 calendar days prior to the course start date. There will be no refund in case the registration is cancelled less than 15
calendar days prior to the course start date or in case of no-show.
Substitution of participant(s) is allowed provided IMTC is notified by email at least 3 working days prior to the course start.
In view of any circumstances beyond the control of IMTC when a course cannot be conducted -such as in situations where
a natural disaster has occurred in or near the training venue- IMTC shall not be liable for non-delivery. In such instances,
IMTC will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the course will be delivered.
IMTC reserves the right to change any information contained in this document.
